They're already paying Gus, so bring him back.

What I wish:
1. Rhule - hire him now and let him start recruiting and get the NIL and portal ready for the talent to come. He rebuilt two programs in college already, neither as good as Auburn.
2. Prime time - big recruit possibilities and Auburn has a talent problem right now.

What I expect:
Muschamp
Lashlee
Grimes

All 3 struggle to build talent before we fire them in 3 years for being average coaches.

He couldn't do any worse than Harsin.

All BS aside, I'd take a look at Sonny Dykes
I’ve seen a bunch of worse options mentioned.

ETA: Rhule is the best hire, but it won't be him

Grimes is the Gus of this cycle IMO

You flirt and talk to a bunch of other dudes but end up back in the same place and everyone's reaction is "well yeah it was always going to be him"

If auburn was remotely competent I’d say the timing suggests Rhule. But I know they’re going to do everything as horribly as possible so I’m going to go with Derek Mason.

Mullen.

Whoever it ends up being, I just want to see them wear a "I'm Just Here for the Buyout" t-shirt to the introductory press conference.
