Kiffin gets a bonus in pay on attendance. He's never really had a true Ole Miss home experience. We had 2020 then last year was a surprise. We lost a lot of fans over the NCAA debacle and then Matt Luke was the last straw for a lot of long time fans.

So sick of hearing this shite 3 out of the first 4 were home games People don’t have the income to keep spending $3,000 a weekend and the drive to and from Oxford It’s asking too much for them to keep coming to scrub games
Ole Miss is a campus full of $40,000 millionaires every year, this proves it.

And yes Ole Miss Fans can stop making excuses. Schedule better games and people will come.
We didn't make the conference schedule that forced us into 3 straight OOC games to start the season and backload it with conference games. You can thank the SEC for that one.
our OOC slate is roughly the same as most other SEC schools. GaTech wasn't this awful when we scheduled them.
Face it....we're a smaller fan base and this country is in a recession. Not a lot of people have ~$1k to spend for their family to see Tulsa when a top-10 Kentucky is right around the corner.

Not showing up for an undefeated top 15 team is wild.

We had 4 straight OOC games with 3 of them at home. The last one was Tulsa. We have a top 10 Kentucky coming next week.
Next week's game is a sell out. And it will be packed.
This was a dogshit schedule the conference gave us.

Everyone has a dog shite conference home schedule occasionally with how the SEC cycles through schedules.

I really need you to re-read that post.
I'm not talking about conference home games. I'm talking about the schedule the conference gave us that had us play all of our OOC opponents in the first month. Usually we at least get one SEC opponent in that first month.

That sounds like a guy that’s going to be Auburn’s head coach in 2023.
Their fans are all in. They turned out and stayed for a dog vomit game against us. Massive respect.

If he cared about fan support he shoulda took the Arkansas job instead of getting into a bidding war and getting told to take the Ole Piss job then.

Ole Miss really is just like SMU but w/an SEC schedule.
SMU's modern ethos is "let's be Ole Miss but with actual money."

and Vols couldn't give away tickets to games a couple years ago, even big SEC games.
We were a 3 win team not ranked 14th. Big difference.

Goddamn, can’t believe he took the OM job over Ark. Dare I say he thought it was a better position?

Honestly as former ole miss student, and player (for a spring) lol. Ole Miss student fans were typically more interested in the party after the game than the actual game unless it was LSU or Miss State is was really shitty

These schools squeeze every last penny they can out of their fans, alumni, students.
They can treat it like a business but when the customer decides he doesn’t want your shite product at a bad time they are in the wrong.
You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

“We have same issues at MSU. Unless it's a conference game we aren't gonna get crowds. Both Ole Miss and State were built up north Mississippi where there is low populations. It's not like an LSU or Tennessee in populated cities.
It's a long drive for most.”
This is true but it is much better today than it used to be. State is now accessible by three different four lane highways and the Golden Triangle area has seen significant growth.
The stadium was about 32K until 1986 and it now seats 60K. There was about 55K for the Memphis game on Labor Day weekend and it was a night game. The hotel situation w much better today than it was 30+ years ago.
I do agree they need to reduce capacity by making the seat size wider.
Attendance is a problem across the board for a variety of reasons, cost, comfort at home, large screen TV’s etc.
