Yep, I love Arkansas has a crazy schedule this year. No weekend is really wasted.

Cinci at home was a good one. Bobby's return. Hell, Freeze returns too with Liberty. On the road at BYU.

You will see full stadiums, before and after halftime, at the games noted in bold above.

Interesting trend.

To be fair so far they've had home games against Tulsa, Troy, and Central Arkansas. I'd hope Ole Miss fans can show up for a top 10 team coming to Oxford in their SEC opener.

Rational, logical thinking. Huh. Just seems out of place here sometimes.

He wanted to get his team to Sugar Bowls and 10 win seasons. Not 8 wins and Music City/Outback Bowls.

Because the Hawgs have never gotten over Lane and his agent saying ‘No Thank You’ to Fayetteville, AR and ‘Yes Please’ to Oxford and Ole Miss.

Correct....big games usually trend towards fans being in the stadium

Then quit scheduling nobodies. Quit scheduling the rent-a-wins for your first 4 non-conference games. I mean c'mon man, Central Arkansas, Troy, Georgia Tech and Tulsa??? That's some patsy shite right there.

Agreed.

The SEC decides when schools play conference games. We had no choice but to schedule four non-conference games to open the season.

yea we definitely should have scheduled Ohio State, Clemson, Texas, and USC to open the season so we can boost our SOS before conference play starts....

...you stupid frick.

It wasn't our choice to start the season with 4 OOC games.

We could be like LSU fans, lose to a legit school, and then cry that we didn’t schedule a rent a win

This is true but it is much better today than it used to be. State is now accessible by three different four lane highways and the Golden Triangle area has seen significant growth. The stadium was about 32K until 1986 and it now seats 60K. There was about 55K for the Memphis game on Labor Day weekend and it was a night game. The hotel situation w much better today than it was 30+ years ago. I do agree they need to reduce capacity by making the seat size wider. Attendance is a problem across the board for a variety of reasons, cost, comfort at home, large screen TV’s etc.

All good legit points. The Golden Triangle is growing pretty fast indeed but it has a ways to go before I would call it "populated." You did hit it on the head about the hotel situation , Starkville is really growing fast. You know, a few years ago we cut concession prices in half on some food items and bottled water. I wondered if that was a plan to entice more butts in the stands.

Damn, show up to games guys before Kiffin leaves.

Schedule these little people and it gets worse. Ole Miss' first 4 games are enough to turn the most hardcore fan base to mush. If that's their definition of an OOC schedule they are just telling the fan base we are still minor league. And they show their enthusiasm accordingly.

That's on Kiffin.

Yes....We should have scheduled those powerhouses ULMonroe, Austin Peay, and Utah State like REAL programs do.

Start the season with Texas in Austin and find out the answer. Kiffin did nothing to build on last season's success with the fans through his national scheduling. Instead, someone thought a downtrodden GaTech and Tulsa would do the trick. How'd that work out?

Kiffin doesn't set the schedule himself. These games are set out years in advance. The GT series was scheduled when back in 2014 when they were coming off an Orange Bowl win.
