I agree that people need to show up but let's be honest here, we've had home games against Central Arkansas, Tulsa, and Troy so far. We will pack it out the rest of the season.

I hope so, unless the vacancies push Lane to AU.

For what its worth, I love Oxford and enjoy every trip I've taken. Great college town.

Apologies.

You jumped in when I made a comment to quicksilver, so I attributed it to you.

Fair enough. I more than waded in to the dispute though. Good luck to Auburn this weekend. Please beat LSU. Their stupid fans are already crowing about being in the top 25 again.

Just leaving these here. All schools have are down on attendance. Has any SEC team this year sold out a stadium? this is the biggest overreaction I've ever seen. And yes Ole Miss Fans can stop making excuses. Schedule better games and people will come.

Auburn is the second most popular team in Birmingham and a a major draw there. I'd be shocked if Auburn wasn't second or third in Atlanta too.

I'll agree there. As a Birmingham resident, I see dozens of mulleted A's and only a few AU's on the daily.

The game sold out earlier this week. Oxford isn't an easy travel distance if you are further than JXN, Tupelo, Memphis. Games against minor opponents in 90 degree weather result in light attendance. SEC games will all be well attended.

We have same issues at MSU. Unless it's a conference game we aren't gonna get crowds. Both Ole Miss and State were built up north Mississippi where there is low populations. It's not like an LSU or Tennessee in populated cities.

It's a long drive for most.

Ole Miss and State are located in the least populous area of the least populous SEC state, and people are in here acting like we are ridiculous for not filling every seat in 95 degree weather against Tulsa.

Last year it was LSU. This year it's Auburn, apparently.

Dude, you could barely beat a marginal Florida team with a QB that can’t hit the broad side of a barn at home……

Kind of funny that others detest Lane yet hold on to every single word that comes out of his mouth. He is challenging the fan base which is fine and perfectly acceptable. I think it's incredibly premature in the season for him to do so but I don't see issue in it. He's trying to switch this from being a fair weather fan base to a program where everyone is bought in. That will take some time because for as long as OM has been bad the OM fanbase have created a situation where game weekends are for fun and drinking and not hanging on to every play of a game.

It's almost as if the rant is filled with dumbarses upset that they are getting beat by Ole Piss

I mean five years from now they eventually be right but that's gotta be depressing for them to see Lane continue to build where he's at.

If attendance mattered Lane would not have left Tennessee for USC.

Personally I hope Kiffin is at Ole Miss for a long time. He’s done a great job there after the dubious spot that Freeze put the program in. With the west the way it is, Auburn is far from a consistent challenger to Bama right now and LSU is going through some changes with a new coaching staff. A&M is gonna find ways to lose games they shouldn’t (App St), Arky is a threat every ten years and Miss St has its best days with Dak. So the conference needs ole miss to be relevant and start to compete with Bama on a semi-regular basis

Good point. I think he likes Hollywood and hoes, if we’re being honest.

FIFY

If we had any semblance of leadership in the athletic department, we would have treated the NCAA investigation like every other school, but this idiot went for "exemplary cooperation" and that's basically like bending over and asking for it up the tailpipe.

Freeze and Bjork should be in the sentence.

They set a record for attendance last year vs LSU

Freeze put us back on the map after the winless 2 years in conference play under Nutt. I do not regret Freeze's tenure at Ole Miss. I do regret Ross Bjork. Had he done his job, he would have had a compliance team watching over the athletic programs. And football wasn't the only sport that could have benefited from that. Bjork had a run-away department. He sucks.

It is the saddest thing about our fanbase/students. I can’t blame Kiffin for calling out the fans. He’s put a great product on the field for our school. And the problem is, it’s always kind of been that way at Ole Miss. When I was at school, I’d be hammered from The Grove before the game, then I’d leave half the games at halftime, because I had beer in the Grove, I could socialize, and watch other games on TV’s throughout the Grove.

He should be pissed that hasn’t changed, with what he’s been able to do with our program.
