Here is a Locked on Auburn video where he is talking about the game... LINK

It's an interesting listen. His dad spends the whole time taking up for TJ. He does not like the 2 QB system, went play-by-play and called out the horrible play-calling. Talked about the offense not being like they thought it would be with Bobo.
There are some good points made, but there is too much biased thought about TJ from his dad. TJ not nearly as good as dad thinks he is. He brushed aside the turnovers real quick and made excuses.

It’s time to start completely fresh…

All the tell tale signs of the wheels coming off and a program going in the ditch are all popping up now. And, it is happening at an impressive rate after the first really bad game. What that tells you is that all this has been there, it is just now starting to creep to the surface. Creep I guess is a bad word, it is sprouting out of the surface like crops on some super GMOs or something.

Yeah, I agree with most of what he said. But you cannot be saying that kind of stuff publicly as a parent. And TJ shouldn't be retweeting stats that point out how shitty his OL is. You gotta keep all that stuff in house.
I said it in another thread, but I'll say it again, anyone (myself included) who was shitting on Pat Nix and his "daddy ball" with Bo, better have the same attitude towards Dee Finley. Finley's is actually worse imo, seeing as how he is saying this shite publicly. At least Nix sat down with the coaches and hashed out the issues. That's the perception of what happened, anyway.

I agree it is pretty good take on the program and some insight to why he came etc.

quote:This was interesting where he had pages of notes and stats. I agree with the rotation issues that he pointed out and the play calling. You can't expect someone to get into a rhythm when you are only brought in on 3rd and long and when there is no short throwing game to combat the blitzing.
He does not like the 2 QB system, went play-by-play and called out the horrible play-calling.

Can you summarize?
Watching it now and about half-way through.
1) TJ hasn't played perfect, he admits.
2) TJ's left shoulder was injured during SJS game, but it wasn't his throwing shoulder so he just rolled with it.
3) TJ's throwing arm is injured pretty good and TJ is having to eat with his left hand right now.
4) He critiqued the game against PSU. Said putting Ashford in there at random times kills TJ's rhythm. He said he understands if there are specific situations for Ashford, but he thinks they are just rolling Ashford out there at random times which makes no sense to him. Said he doesn't think 2 QB systems ever work.
5) Admits TJ's turnovers are bad, but said he watched the film on both of them. Said on both of them O-line was just letting guys run free. First one was a sack fumble. Second one the receiver ran a wrong route so TJ was going to try to throw the ball away but got hit. He said "if he wasn't being hit so much, neither turnover happens."
6) TJ's dad was not happy with playcalling. Said PSU was blitzing like crazy and Auburn's passing plays are all intermediate/long routes which take too long to develop. Said we had no slants, no bubbles, no screen passes lined up. Said "you got to make the other team pay for those blitzes, but we never did."
7) He said he doesn't talk to TJ much because he wants him to be a young man and "do his thing." Said he never discusses game plans or anything like that with him. Said he mostly just sends him motivational stuff. Said he's "trying to be dad, not another coach."
8) Said "we got a tough stretch of the schedule coming up" and then just laughed.

Imagine if this would have happened when Malzahn lost his first game
The team, program and fans were behind him. Now, Harsin has nobody behind him. Should tell you all you need to know

Yeah, you can't say that then blast teammates and coaching in the same interview. Regardless of whether he's right or wrong. He's talking out of both sides of his mouth.
Again, I agree with what he's saying, but it's probably best to keep those to yourself. At minimum do t go on a podcast and say them.

Yeah TJ's dad wasn't really being very sincere in that interview IMO. When the two-QB thing game up he made a comment about being respectful and I'm not going to name names (Talking about Robby Ashford), then multiple times later he calls out Robby by name.
Personally, I agree with him on some of the issues we have, but again, he is biased and a TJ homer. He has got to know what a bad look this interview is for himself, TJ, and everyone involved. Should have just said no comment.

This guy thinks TJ is his meal ticket. He talked in an interview last year on one of the Bham shows about how him coming in for Bo was going to “greatly help TJ prepare for when he plays at the next level.”
Hahahaha!!!!
Hahahaha!!!!

No one likes a 2 QB system when you are losing.
No one complained about Tebow coming in in spots during his freshman year at UF. Now that was more situational and not just randomly like we have seen with TJ and Ashford.

This 2 QB system is awful. I don’t see a lot of rhyme or reason to how they are doing this. Maybe they are experienced high paid coaches that know better than me, but the results show it sucks.

TJ on twitter the other day. Now his dad going on a podcast... man that is not a good look for them or us. Poor leadership starts at the top.

Harsin has no control over TJ's dad.
