Not true USC has been a pleasant surprise, they were good when Spurrier was there, abs have won Nattys in baseball, girls basketball and made final four, CWS etc
Missouri was supposed to booster basketball but they have been train wreck

Hated to see Missouri leave B-12, ‘‘twas an-easy win, even in their “great years”

SCar got invited after FSU and Miami both pussied out. Mizzou got invited because of TV markets and UF's former president being a fanboy.

In Missouri, it’s all about the Cardinals, Chiefs, Blues.

Yet oddly both SC and Mizzou have made the SEC championship game... while teams who have been in the SEC forever like Kentucky, Vandy and Ole Miss have not. Neither has A&M... one of the new additions you didn't mention.

There are more sports than football, cuz.

Mizzou brought in a lot of money on the SEC Network. And Jesse James is from Missouri, he never stopped fighting the Civil War. They're good in my book.

How many years are we into this and people still can’t wrap their minds around TV markets? It’s not just about who is a good football program now and historically.

SC is okay overall. Mizzou should be traded though for Virginia Tech or even Appy State.

My guess on Missouri
#1 Big population state (lots of eyeballs for media deals)
#2 Partner for TAMU when Sooners did not join

They both win the shitty East's division when Georgia or Florida didn't

Could have gotten Clemson and one of the Virginia schools. Then A$M and Texas. Oklahoma Nebraska last.

This shite has been discussed ad nauseam since admission of MU and A&M (can't really say about SCAR). The answer is readily obtainable. The article linked below explains it in clear detail.
Spoiler alert...the answer is MONEY.
Texas A&M and Missouri Worth at Least $114 Million a Year to SEC Network
...and it turned out even more lucrative than that projection.
For those that can't wrap their head around how that value was obtained because "nobody cares about Mizzou football", try this from the article to enlighten you:
quote:
A 12 team SEC had 20.8 million cable and satellite subscribers, a 14 team SEC has 30.3 million. By adding just two schools to the conference the SEC increased its overall subscriber base by nearly 50%.
Every one of those 9.5 million cable and satellite households would end up with the SEC Network on its basic tier.
Why?
Because there would be howls of outrage if the SEC Network wasn't included. Lots of SEC fans complained about Missouri's inclusion to the SEC because they argued that people didn't care that much in Missouri about Mizzou football. That's the wrong way to look at this. The better way to look at it is this, do enough people care to demand that the SEC Network be carried by their local cable or satellite service?
The answer is yes. Hell, yes, even.
Simple stuff if you REALLY want to know the answer.
