Considering how Harsin has used Pete Thamel as a mouth piece over the past year and Harsin being linked by Thamel as a person of interest at ASU there’s more to this than hyperbole…. He might just be looking for a way out that will benefit each party mutually…. If so, work the deal and tee up the next HC search now rather than later

Riley and Day are a bit of a mixed bag prior to starting their HC roles.

Lincoln Riley was a superstar OC at ECU first then in his stint at OU. There were rumors OU encouraged Stoops to retire so Riley could take over.

Ryan Day took over mostly because how Meyer exited. That was just a weird situation

Here's a fun name to throw out.

Tom Herman. He was the hottest name out there pre Texas, his Texas tenure wasnt as bad as people make it out to be.

I wasn’t using the term mixed bag as something negative. Just to be clear.

Yeah the fact that Day has worked out is a little bit surprising based on the circumstances and what not.

I'd argue the opposite. Entire infrastructure stayed in place with Day taking over.

If anything, losing Meyer before he railroaded your program is probably smart.

Herman is a Saban Coaching Rehab stint away from being Lane Kiffin 2.0 without banging coeds

I'd also be down for a post Saban reclamation of Scott Frost in 3-4 years when we buyout our next coach

Hes completely out of coaching this year. Would need to do that rehab stint in record time.

I'd give whatever he wants....This would be groundbreaking in a myriad of ways.

Want both of them, actually

I might be sick or something.....because I am kinda agreeing with this. We would suck but be exciting.

For all you Deion lovers, there's literally no way we're going to give the reigns of our program to someone's only coaching experience is 2 years at Jackson State. Not after the Harsin debacle. It's just not going to happen. Thankfully, even we're not that dumb.

I also thought the whole point of him at Jackson State was to encourage top tier athletes to go to HBCU’s as well as big programs.

It most certainly is about his arrogance as it relates to relationships with HS coaches.

I’m gonna take Deion at his word - he didn’t take the JSU gig for the money, he took it to raise the profile of HBCUs.

It would be extremely cynical and hypocritical of him to jump ship now, no matter how much cash we wave at him.
