Who Would You Like As Coordinators?

Realistically, in terms of who we could potentially get. I know most Alabama fans are not pleased with either of our coordinators right now.

Pete Golding's defenses, regardless of statistics do not match the brand of Alabama football. They're not aggressive, nasty, fearsome defenses. They're reactive and receptive defenses.

Bill O'Brien has no instincts for playcalling whatsoever. It seems like Bryce Young is making it work in spite of our playcalling.

For DC, Id give anything to have Pruitt back. Those aggressive, blitz-happy defenses are everything that I love about defensive football. Even if it produced the same stats as a Pete Golding defense, I'd rather see our guys pin their ears back and hit people for 4 quarters.

For OC, I'm not sure who we should target. It seems like Saban wants a really well-rounded, modern style offense with NFL concepts. It's tricky to find an OC who fits this bill who's available which is why he probably stuck with BoB, but we clearly are in need of an upgrade.

Pruitt or Kirby with Sark or Kiffin with this talent would run any team off the field.

But. We have what we have, and each are capable enough to get the team there this year.

Hope the players got their wake up call because it was a lack of execution and discipline as much as anything that affected the game last week.

Ystar obviously.

His schemes are so brilliant he could win a title with nothing but a couple three stars and a few transfers from Vanderbilt.

A beautiful mind he has.

He could coach both sides while eating lunch.

I'd like Paul Westhead as OC and The Theodosian Walls as DC

The Wake Forest OC has has had consistently good to great offenses relative to Wake Forest talent. He seems like he can scheme it up pretty good at the college level.

Happy with Golding at DC.

I feel the Alabama offense is fine. We just need an OC that has a better feel for the flow of the game. BoB can script an opening couple of series pretty well. But he goes into a shell once anything goes off script.

OC- Kendall Briles, or Warren Ruggiero

DC- Glenn Schumann. He has been an Co-DC at UGA for 3-4 years and he was with the program from 2008- 2015.

You 100% nailed it. Golding is way better than he gets credit for. He struggled his first season but he’s improved every season since and our defense always gets better as the game goes on.
Nothing to add on BoB. You said exactly what I was going to say.

The thing is, to work for Saban you have to be able to recruit. There are a number of guys who can scheme it up good on Saturday but can't recruit like what is demanded here. With that in mind, here's what I would enjoy seeing:

OC: Give me Phil Longo. Experienced. Really good results in terms of offensive production relative to the talent at the stops he's been at. Has had a prolific ground game and a prolific pass game at times - flexible to his personnel. Great developer at the QB position. Has experience coaching/recruiting in the SEC.

DC: Give me Mike Tressel. Pedigree. Can recruit really strong relative to competition level. Coaches LB which is a requirement here. Has had some really strong defenses. I think the 3-3-5 scheme he runs would translate well into what Saban runs, bringing us some effective new wrinkles.

Of course that's based on who is currently DC/OC in CFB now that I think we could hire away. There are usually a handful of really quality former HC's that are available or NFL guys that come available. If I had to guess, that would be the route we ultimately go.

My wife and I sat with Belks mom on a flight to Dallas for the 2015 Cotton Bowl. Talked most of the flight. Super nice lady.

For DC: Glenn Schumann or Jimmy Lake

For OC: How about...Kliff Kingsbury. His career path has been kinda similar to Lane Kiffin's, so why not make a career stop as the OC at Bama?
