Haven't been in several years but if you're downtown I'd lean toward The Hound.

Ate lunch at Acre last week and it was really good. Not sure if you'd need a reservation or not?

Yea if you have one dinner, do Acre if you can. If you can’t get a reservation or wait is too long, then go to the Hound. Those would be my first two options in that order.

The meatloaf is an all time dish there. Highly underrated.

Did you do an appetizer? Bacon flight is legit.

Normally would not order Meatloaf, but it is great.

What did you get?

Last time I had Acre for lunch I got the Cowboy burger or Texas Cowboy burger (may not be the actual name but it isn't the standard "Acre burger"), and it was great. I believe it had jalapeno aioli with their house bacon. Very good.

But my wife ordered fish tacos. I believe they're grouper tacos. And oh man. I could eat about 20 of those damn things. I don't know exactly what all was on them, but man they are fan-freakin-tastic.

Damn, I just looked up the menu to see the name of the burger and was reminded of the Butcher's Board tray. I could go and eat that all day. The tomato soup, blue crab beignets...I skipped lunch today. Just had water and some grapes and it was mistake to view that menu. I've never had it but it just caught my eye so I'll order it next time I'm in town, but the okra creole remoulade sounds fantastic.

Little Italy if you roll into town at 1:30am like I did last time. That grease and beer infusion saved my life after a long day at the office.

Seriously, you'll never go wrong with the Hound. Wife and I try to eat there every time we go down.
