It will not take Brian Kelly very long to win a national title.

Yeah! That’s why the ND fans were wanting him gone for years.

Get ready to go through NIL...
It's going to be a mess... For a while.

They really opened Pandora's box

With Texas and OU coming on board, LSU won't win another division title much less national title.

Kelly's last appearance in a national championship game involved his team getting beaten down so badly that he made a joke in his halftime interview about how their only chance to win was if the other team didn't come back out for the second half.

He now plays that team, which beat him by 17 points in their next meeting, every single year.

He'll leave LSU without ever winning the SEC West.

I don’t think a lot of you know how rare, fortuitous and lucky a NC is. That windfall from heaven in 2019, and Saban’s run of success seems to make people believe anyone can do it anytime.

I suggest, look at the years and what it took for Georgia to finally get over the hump. Look at Ohio State recruiting, playing in a gimme league, and can’t come close to Saban.

For Kelly to do a NC in three years, he will have to …

(1) overcome every SECw team including Bama;

(2) beat Georgia-SECe;

(3) then win a game against one of top OOC teams in the country;

(4) and then beat Bama again in the NC game.

And that after starting with the worst, last place, totally dysfunctional program in the SEC.

Perhaps talking about what constitutes a “successful program” should include a knowledgeable, realistic view of what is required to win a NC.

He’s building an excellent recruiting class his first full cycle… he’ll win a natty before Howard is in the league.

Is he planning on joining Nick Saban Center for Head Coaches Who Can't Coach Good and Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too?

Not a question of "if" he wins a national title at LSU... really a question of how many? 2, 3, 4, 5? I would probably put the O/U at 5 if he coaches at LSU at least 10 years.

He's probably going to ruin college football for the rest of us.

This is what they said about Scott Frost at Nebraska. I think a lot of folks are going to be mistaken about Kelly at LSU; this has failure written all over it.

If he's good enough to win a national title he'd have done so at Notre Dame.

He didn't.

Eh. You can talk about winning titles with miles and O, but they were the perfect goobers for LSU if you're not going to have an elite coach. They played up the rah, rah, everyone-hates-us-because-we're-retarded-swamp-trash bit and got the players pumped for big games. And LSU has enough talent to win the the boring games without rah rah. But now, you have a "good" but not great coach who isn't going to rally the swamp trash against the the good but not great teams. Expect to lose 2-3 games a year to middle of the pack SEC teams.
