And paying players

Per Brett McMurphy
quote:

Big Ten’s Kevin Warren tells @RealSportsHBO
he sees Big Ten having 20 members & paying players. “Those (paying players) are things we have to resolve. We have to. So I want to be part of this conversation & will be part of this conversation of what we can do to make this better”

More conference expansion may happen sooner than later

Just means we will go to 20 as well Im sure
Take your pick of what acc schools you want cause unless we grab Oklahoma State, I'm sure the 4 will be from there

Not necessarily. You can certainly grow the size of your pie by adding teams, but depending on what you add, you can also make each slice of pie smaller for each member.

Yep. Have to add the right schools or it's not worth it for the current members
It's why the big 10 grabbed usc/ucla

Outside of Clemson and Florida St, none of them have been to the playoffs. Grab 2 from the ACC and 2-3 from the new Big 12.

How? I sincerely think the SEC is in a much better position over the long run than the B1G. Once the dust has settled, it's likely going to look something like this in terms of additions since 2010:

B1G: Nebraska, Rutgers, Maryland, USC, UCLA, Washington, Oregon, Stanford, and either Cal or Notre Dame.

SEC: Texas A&M, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Florida State, and Clemson.

The B1G will have added a has-been blue blood (Nebraska), a blue blood in a market where nobody cares about college football (USC), a couple interesting programs in Washington and Oregon, and then some afterthought programs. It's also sacrificed any semblance of geographic identity, which will be unpleasant for non-revenue sports.

The SEC, by contrast, will have added five programs that attract big time viewership (Texas, OU, Clemson, FSU, and Aggy), largely maintained a geographic identity, and will be home to every single championship winner since 2004, save a single year (Ohio State - 2014). Additionally, the vast majority of the country's talent comes from SEC states. While states like Texas, Florida, and Georgia grow in population and football talent, the B1G states are largely floundering.

Yeah the BIG has teams spread over Eastern, Central and Pacific time zone. Fans and players be damned.

I can’t stand Sankey but he’s playing this pretty well. Him wanting to keep the conference somewhat regional is big. The Big 10 adding USC sounds cool but it’s going to be a nightmare traveling for everyone

The increased TV revenue will be eaten up by travel costs for the non-revenue sports.

Nah, we like it here. Plus, I enjoy how much Mizzou being in the conference seems to bother Arkansas fans.

If the SEC goes to 20 teams, the east/west sides will surely operate like their own leagues for the most part in minor sports. Or at least like divisions used to when the SEC was at 12. Cross division play will be limited in the regular season.

Texas
OU
TAMU
Mizzou
Arkansas
LSU
Ole Miss
Miss State
and either AU, UA or Vandy, UT in a "western conference".

By waiting too long to act. If Warren is saying they will go to 20 he already has negotiated those and is ready to act.
Sankey may already be doing this, I could be wrong of course, but it appears to me that Sankey was caught flat footed with his dick in hand while Warren is banging the entire cheerleader squad.
Texas and OU don't show up until 2025....if they aren't part of Warren's balance of teams. Wouldn't that e a twist of fate. What a cluster, lol.

Big 10 and SEC are just waiting for the moment they can pull the ACC apart.

Do we throw a lifeline to someone in the Pac to expand the footprint? Probably not. I think we need to go after the ACC. Move up the east coast and bring in Miami, Clemson, North Carolina, & Virginia. It adds 2 more states and leaves only FSU, GT, Wake, Duke, & VT for the Big Ten to consider.
