Jdoc,

No big deal. We will be fine. There is an interesting conundrum here and both views have some validity.
Leach does have more talent than he customarily has but he is facing more talent.

The $64,000 question is will the air raid work in the SEC consistently? The answer is: The jury is still out.
It is only his third year and COVID/Transfer/NIL has transformed the dynamics of college football.

The knock on Leach is he will lose a game or two he should not and win one or two that he should not. At Washington State he was for the most part playing with less talent.

Over the next three-four-five years will tell the tale.

I am on board with him that he will succeed but we will see.

You really backed your claim up with some insightful analysis

So you want people to reach into the future and prove it that there are nfl guys on that defense.

Robert Chukwudumebi Nkemdiche.... did the highly touted first rounder just get cut again?

Get the point?

As a follow up. Here is from a Q & A released today:

quote:

Q: After every practice, NFL scouts are talking to you about your cornerbacks. What does that say about their development?

McBath: Honestly, I know the kids see it and they get excited about it. It is good for them to see because hard work pays off. What we're doing and how we do it translates to them for that next level.

Like I said... Their defense will be top 10. No less than top 15.

That we’re 6 games under .500 since Mullen left? Absolutely. Show your work. ETA: oh…. You’re talking about SEC games only….. we were also that under Mullen

Not talking about SEC only. So you gonna take the bet or not?

Well considering that SEC only play is the only thing we’re 6 games under .500 in since Mullen left, sure.

Please do your math again and show the year by year. If not, see ya! Because you’re wrong and clearly can’t count over 6 (or under, I guess).

You said 6 games, you fricking dunce. We’re 25-25, or 8 games under if you count the vacated season. Not 6.

ETA: and then you showed 7 when you said 18-25. Clearly counting is an issue

LOL! That's an old fable that people have latched onto. Leach has never had the amount of talent he has. But you keep clinging to that.

I'm a State grad/fan and Leach supporter, but to me Leach proved that fable true last season. Lost to Memphis and almost lost to La Tech.

Doesn't mean he will always lose games like that, but he may lose an SEC game where State is favored. The fable will be out there because his teams have done it many years.

Looking forward to playing Memphis in Starkville opening weekend. Bad to say we have a revenge game against Memphis, but State should blast them.

Leach should consistently have better defenses at State than he had at Texas Tech or Washington State. We will just have to see if that will translate into wins.

State doesn't just have a normal tough SEC schedule in 2022, State's schedule has been rated the toughest in the country by at least one site.

Poor guy said none of Ole Miss' vacated wins count yet he tried to ignore Moo St's vacated wins for cheating. D'oh!

ate in the game we downed(or touched the ball with intent ) a punt then started heading to the sideline ... Memphis picked the ball up and ran it into the endzone for a touchdown. One Ref called the play dead but never spoke up as the other refs didn't realize the play was dead ... I'm sure it's on you tube ... we lost by less than that one touchdown

Also on that return, Memphis had two players with the same jersey number. One was the speedy guy who picked up the ball and ran for the TD. Appropriate penalty for that would have also negated the TD return.

Should have been Memphis ball inside their own 10 yard line, no TD.

So it's the ref's fault for losing to a 6-6 AAC team in a regular season game?

State got screwed on the call. It was egregiously bad. But they shouldn't have been playing that close of a game with a bad AAC team to begin with.

Don't forget State needed a three TD fourth quarter comeback to beat LA Tech in the first game of the season.
