For texas and Oklahoma to come? I mean, I know why , but you would think they could break the contract and get in with it for everyone’s sake.

I mean, usc and ucla just announced their moves and they will be playing a big ten schedule in 2024

BYU , Cincinnati, and Houston will play in the big 12 in 2023

I remember everyone on this board saying there’s no way texas and ou aren’t in the sec by 2023 or I even remember some saying 2022.

Do y’all still think it will be 2025?
Also , I have a question,I’m sure they will wait , but just to be sure I’ll ask, we are going to wait until texas and ou come before we change the scheduling format, correct?

I ask because it seems like they want to change scheduling faster than they want ou and texas in

Stated why he asked in the post. Are your reading comprehension skills lacking?

Can’t ESPN and Texas just void the longhorn network contract?

Because Oklahoma doesn’t want to… or, perhaps can’t afford their exit fee.

theres no need to rush it for them.

SEC boost in recruiting, and keeping same competition until then. why rush the move?

It's the same with Aggie fans. If there's one of OU or Texas that doesn't want to, you need to look over at Austin for that. Now the money, not going to argue that point at all...

These conference all have a Grant of Rights that locks up their tv money. The Pac 12 GOR ends 1 year before the Big 12 GOR, so UCLA and USC will go a year earlier. The Big 12 doesn't want to negotiate a cheaper buyout. OU can't afford the full buyout. Texas could afford the full buyout, but they don't want to also pay for OU.

For Texas, there are 2 other factors. I think Texas is happy to wait and not give any additional money to the other Big 12 teams. Also, our football team is an abortion right now and it doesn't suck to have a few years to recruit some decent linemen before joining the SEC.

2023 is still very much in the table.

2024 at the latest.

No chance it’s 2025.

Just watch.

So you must be that same type of guy who asks every year “why can’t we just fire our coach?” While not contributing a dime to the effort

I think it’s best to let ou and Texas leave in 2023. If not the big 12 will have to split their revenue 14 ways. If they allow them to leave, then split between 12 teams.

But that revenue that they would be slipping 12 ways is going to be a lot less without Texas and OU. Who would be the biggest money earner in that conference? Baylor? Tech?

It was never going to be 2025. It was always 2023. Next year OU and Texas will play in the SEC
