Good. One less game for us to lose

frick that. DSOR is one of the best things about SEC football. Oldest rivalry there is. We’ve been on the short end of the stick for a good while here, but no one wants to give up that game. We ain’t scared of those ball licking leg humping retards.

I’d drop UAT before UGA…

Drop all rivalries and let’s just rotate everyone.

Agreed. It bothers me more not playing some SEC teams for 10 years.

I would like to keep both Iron Bowl & DSOR. I say go to 9 conference games, 2 permanent rivals and 7 games that rotate every two years. I dont see bama giving up 3rd Sat of October

I'd like to see us have an easier schedule. It will help us get to the playoffs. Georgia is in the East and if we run the West we would play in the SEC Championship. And if history is any factor, we would likely play Alabama or Georgia in the playoffs

I see the SEC doing away with divisons and either A) the top two records go into the SECCG or B) 4 pods of 4 teams and the pod winners will play in a 4 team SEC playoff to determine the campion.

This seems most likely. NCAA did away with the requirement to have divisions with conferences with 12 or more. PAC-12 has already dissolved their divisions. The ACC is also considering it. I'm sure Big Ten will follow.

Do not like it.
They’re fricking up if they don’t just switch Auburn and Alabama East and do 10 SEC games.

We used to play Georgia Tech every year.
We used to play Tennessee and Florida every year.
It seems whenever expansion occurs, we lose a rivalry game.
It’s not really a conference anymore. It’s a league.

It would suck, and not just for us. It's a stupid idea; you would lose TSIO, you would lose either the Egg Bowl or LSU/Ole Miss. You'd either have aTm and Texas in the same conference but not play every year or lose the Red River Shootout (I'm sure the TX state fair would be thrilled at that). Lose either Tenn/UGA or the cocktail party.
You would be losing some of college football's best known and most storied rivalries. That would be like losing Army/Navy.

Would hate not playing UG-ly every year. Bama series was not played for decades and going this route lets bama play TSIO.
Is this no divisions or 2 division? If 2 divisions, then move AU to East and keep bama as permanent.
If we go no divisions, then keep UG-ly and drop bama. Question is, 'Does UGa give up AU-GA or FL-GA?'
Knowing these rivalries, the 7-1 route seems a No Go.

They might as well call it something besides 'The Southeastern Conference' when they're done. Because adding Oklahoma, the Texass'es, Missouri, and the next TV market darling was/is asinine if it's at the expense of 60-70-100 year old rivalries.
WHAT THEY GOING TO DO NEXT PLAY PLAYERS?

I’d prefer we keep some of the things that have made college football special. It started with the insane TV money, then the playoff which seemingly had the unintended consequence of rendering most bowl games meaningless and making regular season losses less important, now paying players (which, to be clear, I get).. one day we are gonna wake up and it’s going to be a completely unrecognizable game to us. No good reason not to go out of the way to maintain these rivalries. They are important and help the product.

I’m good with it… something has to give.

I mean you can almost have an SEC division and a Big 12ish division. Only game I’d miss is LSU but we also add Tennessee and Florida back

Should've seen this coming in '92. Seemed harmless enough, adding SC (an independent) and Arky (who's conference had imploded). But it set in motion the chaos we have today.
Is CFB any better because Nebraska is in the Big 10 (which has 14 teams)? Or West Virginia in the Big 12 (which has only 10 teams?) Will it be any better if the DSOR (or the Iron Bowl) doesn't happen every year?
I say no.
