Cal never uses all our scholarships. It's pure asshattery.

I can sympathize with you, we had to pull in all but one spot as well. It’s tough.

LSU
Rated as the 50th-best player nationally and the No. 10 center in the country, Shawn Phillips comes to LSU from Dream City Christian School in Glendale, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix. With his addition, coach McMahon has now used his full allotment of scholarships for 2022 and has transformed a roster that was completely wiped out just a month-and-a-half ago into one that should be able to compete with most programs in the SEC. Let’s have a look:”
High School Signees:
C Shawn “Baby Shaq” Phillips (7-0, 250)
F Jalen Reed (6-10, 220)
F Tyrell Ward (6-7, 185)
C Corneilous Williams (6-10, 195)
Transfers:
F Kendal Coleman (6-8, 220)
F Derek Fountain (6-8.5, 200)
G Trae Hannibal (6-2, 217)
G Cam Hayes (6-3, 175)
G Justice Hill (6-0, 175)
C KJ Williams (6-10, 245)
Returners:
G Adam Miller (6-2, 185)
F Mwani Wilkinson (6-5, 206)
G Justice Williams (6-4, 170)

I think McMahon's going about it the right way - getting 3 key players to return from last year, several transfers from his previous school and others, and signing several highly-ranked high school kids.
From 0 to 14 in less than 2 months is pretty impressive.

It really shows the state of the LSU program when they are bragging about having a team next year

Where are you coming up with Shawn Phillips being in the top 50?
He is rated as the #111 player (#20C) on 247 composite and #144 (#21C) on 247
Compete with most programs in the SEC meaning Ole Miss, Missouri, Miss State, UGA and Vandy?
