So many different threads too choose from. I’m going with this one

Wasserman: Why playing for Nick Saban is like an investment — one that NIL can’t match (The Athletic)

NIL is the bird in the hand, and some prospects will take it. But playing for Alabama is an investment. Smart people invest.

That’s why even though Sabans right, I wish he would have left jsu out of it. Deion and others are yelling about race when that has nothing to do with it. Twitter is a mess with it right now

Yeah really wish he left them out of it. Media is using JSU and Deion as a shield for the real problem; Jimbo and A&M.

Hope Saban comes out and apologies to Deion citing he read bad information but double's down on that clown Jimbo.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!! I don't care what color you are or who you are. NOBODY should be treated with kid gloves. You look worse when you cower down to others. If you say something, man up to it and never apologize unless you are proven to be wrong.

I mean I think he should apologize about the Deion thing because at this point it's not even been close to proven and most say it wasn't really true. You shouldn't throw around accusations based around things you don't have any real knowledge of. That was silly and he shouldn't have said it.

I have a feeling he knows more than us though and any other "media" member. How do you know he doesn't have any real knowledge of it?

I think Saban is very smart, very calculated and very in tune with things around the country. I also think he is human and last night he got away from himself and starting riffing. I don't think he knows anything more than rumors amongst coaches and football folks, which is the same stuff we all heard about Hunter and Jackson State. And there was no reason to bring it up.

When high school recruits ask if you can match the money it’s a little more than rumors amongst coaches and football folks.

I can agree with that, but it's more impactful when it's not just one incident. If you can show that it's a systemic issue you can get more change done.

Oh he has very direct knowledge of the A&M situation. That's a different beast.

There is no chance Travis Hunter is playing at fricking Jackson State for free. I don't know who is making sure he is "comfortable" there, but he isn't there for free. That'd be like if you were told you could spend a week at any hotel in the world and you pick some old, run down Super 8 with a suspicious brown stain on the floor instead of the Plaza or one of those resorts in Bora Bora with the rooms over the water.

That being said, there is no actual proof of it aside from some rumors and articles with questionable sources talking about Barstool paying him. That also applies to A&M though. Miami is the only one he called out who is loud and proud about having an entire team on payroll.

Exactly which is why he should double down on them.

This JSU stuff was something he knows he should have avoided. Hopefully he irons things out with Deion and Deion shows Saban some love for that.

Then we can all focus on that clown in college station.

It’s not using kid gloves or treating them differently cause of race. I just think mentioning JSU when, let’s be real they’re going to get maybe one big name a year, that’s not affecting Bama any. Sabans not having kids coming to him asking to match JSU offer. Focus should be on a&m and Miami nil loudmouth.

F deion and anyone who has a problem with the truth. As for the race thing , thatd be even more laughable because CNS has made a difference in the lives of countless black families, which is more than deion can say. Tons of ex bama players already on twitter defending coach and firing their own warning shots

Outside of the Saban, Jimbo, etc topic, the NIL situation might be improved by not allowing NIL deals in a player's first year at a program. It would help with NIL being used to recruit freshmen players and also bringing in transfers.

You'd still have some stuff under the table like it's been for decades but not as bad as it is now. The system as it stands is not sustainable.
