I'm sure you all have heard by now that Jeff Klein passed away. I hate to hear about anyone dying at such a young age it hits just a little harder when it's an Auburn man.

Just curious, based on the reporting of this he went from nothing obviously wrong with him to some back pain to discovery of some troubling spots to death in a very short period of time (less than 2 weeks). I just read in a report that it was cancer, I don't know how accurate that report is but it seems very rare if it is. I've never heard of cancer acting that rapidly. Any of you have any insight?

Yes, there are some types of cancer that don't cause acute distress until the last stages. A former boss at my place of employment had a similar situation.

Wow, that is terrifying and I had no idea. All my experience has been related to lengthy declines.

Some cancers spread without much or any symptoms, grows in a place that causes pain, and disaster. Really heartbreaking.

I guess we never know what could be happening inside us.

It is sad to hear about a young man dying and a young family being without him. I’m sure it is devastating to his wife, kids, parents, siblings, extended family, and friends.

I never met him, but I hope those who are experiencing grief and pain will find comfort and peace. The memories for those that knew him and loved him will last forever.

Agree lost 3 uncles 2 aunts a sister and my father to it. Various but different kinds. Some nastier than others...

As for the OP: Neighbor across the street found progressed staged of cancer, VA started Chemo found something in his stomach that if chemo kept up would kill him so no chemo...he died pretty quickly went downhill quick.

Sometimes it doesn't take long. Worst kind I have seen has been bone cancer...very painful for the people...other cancers masticized into bone cancer...

My brother had a history of cardiac issues but appeared to be doing okay, until one night he developed breathing problems. A few tests and xrays later he was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer. Before they had a chance to work up a treatment plan he had a massive stroke, complications from which killed him about 6 weeks later.

My heartfelt condolences go out to Jeff’s family. I know what they’re going through.

Jeff had a cannon of an arm if I remember correctly. He could sling it. Sucks for all those close to him. Life is precious.

Please refresh my memory.

Was Klein under Bowden or Tubberville?

Did he play late in the Barn Burning LSU game when the building caught fire?

Did he start after Leard got hurt in 1999?

Was he just before Daniel Cobb?

He was under Tubby. Was forced into action 1n 1999 with Leard getting hurt after Gabe Gross decided to focus on baseball.

One of family’s long time employees, chainsmoker found out she had the final stages of lung cancer after going to ER for back pain. She was told she had 2 weeks to live. 3 weeks later we put her in the ground. Another longtime employee of mine his wife found out she had cancer. I think it was stomach. 2 weeks later he buried his wife.

He played in the famous Tuberville prevent defense that prevented the win against Miss St. I feel bad for making fun of how bad of a QB he was but a 1/2 competent QB would have won that day. Still though he hung in there and should have been on the winning side of Tuberville hadn’t intentionally given Miss St 2 points on a safety

Klein got screwed by circumstance. He wasn't ready. Should have been third string coming into the year but got forced into a bad situation.

That team had major holes, especially at RB.

My Dad's was renal carcinoma. They opened him up at UAB and they couldn't remove it because it had grown into other organs. None of my siblings or Mom had the stones to tell him right away after he woke up. Took a couple of hours. He was given a 6 month prognosis and lasted 2.5 years. He was able to finish our cabin up at Lake Wedowee, with him doing all of the plumbing work.

My Meme and Pop on my Mom's side died of cancer. Aunt Judy on my Mom's side as well. Less on my Dad's side other than my Dad.

I wouldn't wish it on anyone and I have deep empathy for anyone who has to go through it, as a sufferer or family member. Same with dementia/Alzheimer’s. RIP #9.
