No doubt if Nakobe would have participated we would have had 3 LB’s in the top 7.

Wyatt and T. Walker are going to be studs in the NFL. Their “Average” overall grades are stupid. Davis runs a 4.78 at 6’6 340#’s and he only has a “Will be good in 2 years”??? Just dumb.

Walker running a 4.51 at 6’5 272#’s, a crazy cone drill time, and a 10-yard split faster than nearly all the WR’s and RB’s is incredible. They are all under-valued with the ridiculous grading scale they’re using.

Tindall will probably be a day 1 starter wherever he ends up, and Quay not far behind.

The sheer volume of obscene freak athletes we had on this defense this year was just incredible. We need to be prepared for quite the dropoff next season.

There will be a dropoff. But we have studs behind them.

The only unicorn was Jordan Davis.
List the games where he didnt start and you see a pattern.

2018 LSU loss
2018 Texas loss
2019 SCar loss
2020 Florida loss

Even in our wins, we missed his presence.
2020 Miss St gave our defense fits. They consistently won on 1st down (even on the ground) helping them to move the chains. 53% conversion for Miss St on 3rd downs.
2021 Tennessee proved to be a struggle. Part of that was Davis going down with an ankle injury. 45% conversion for tennessee on 3rd downs.

The boys def put on a show. There is indeed and natty bump that motivates the players and gets them extra attention and $$$.

A little frustrating when guys end up in the best shape two months after they leave but money does motivate. They also had nothing to do but train I guess.

You are frustrated with any of the guys at the combine?

That is a first im hearing of frustration this offseason.

I wouldn’t look too much into it. Combine condition is very different than playing condition for these guys. Just the nature of having only your athletic traits and abilities measured vs. having to battle it out with other human projectiles on a field

^ This. At the combine, they don't have to carry the weight they need for absorbing contact... they don't have to be well rounded for the most part, most are heavily specializing in just a couple of events (it's why you see less cone drill/agility work from a lot of participants... heavy focus on 40). It's an audition for which they spent 2 months not just training, but training specifically for the exact drills they intended to participate in. They showed up in top shape for that specific job...

But Alabama losing a WR is why we won. It wasn’t any of these absolute monsters.

Saban is still whining about injuries.

I don't get the injury excuse from Alabama. They are 3 to 4 deep with 4 and 5 star talent. They reload every year and made it to the National Championship game even after losing a ton of talent from the year before. There are a lot of teams that can't afford to lose some starters but Alabama isn't one of them.

They also seem to forget that Saban purposefully chose to remove his starting QBs two years in a row against us because we had shut down their starters. Their backups were able to beat us. So yeah, they can keep their excuses.

You get two +1000 yard receivers by not letting the backups play. Then Saban calls these backups out for not being ready when the starters went down (with non-contact injuries).

I’m glad Kirby was keeping the ball spread out and our backups relevant.
