Nice save by Palisch, but we have serious depth issues in the bullpen.

We should be ranked in the major polls this week. We keep this up, it’s time to start being considered a regional host. 17 wins should do the trick.

Unfortunately, nothing but unranked opponents from here on out.

We play at Vandy next week. They're ranked 5th, 19th, 19th, & 20th in 4 of the 6 "main" polls. They've been as high as #1 this year for multiple weeks. They went 3-1 this week with a road SEC series win.

So are we happy with 1 win vs Vandy or are we at the point we expect a series W?

All the more amazing that were 9-3 against ranked teams

We lack the depth to go far in the postseason most likely, but it’s pretty impressive what Schloss has done with this bunch. This wouldn’t even be in the top 10 of Childress’ most talented teams.

Somewhere in the middle.

You’re never happy losing a series. You can be happy you won on Sunday to avoid a sweep (like the Astros today) but a series loss is a series loss.

On the flip side, I would not expect to talk into Nashville and take a service from Vandy.

Win or lose this series isn’t making or breaking our season. We’ve done enough to be in comfortably with a regional host not out of the question with a strong finish. We have the 2nd easiest (tied with a couple others) remaining schedule.

My guess is we finish 17-13. Lose the Vandy series and win the rest. No sweeps either way. I went back to check a few seasons on 17-13 finishes. UF (‘21) & Lsu (‘19) both hosted regionals. U of SC (‘18) did not.

On the pitching side, sure, but offensively this team has some real talent.

Not taking anything away from Schloss. He put this group together under a very difficult situation. He’s implemented his culture. Listen to any players speak after the game (or during for some broadcast) they have bought in.

Big big credit to Bjork for making what looks like a grand slam hire.

If I did the math correctly, we had 20k at the ballpark this weekend (total attendance). Just going off feel, but I think it’s probably been a long while since we’ve done that.

I think 17-13 is about right. However, this team continues to win weekend series against ranked teams. Hope they can hold that motivation against lesser teams down the stretch

Thought we were 21 in D1? either way, this team is completely different than the team that started the season!

Being ranked is something of a surprise, though the idiots on TA seem to think we should be ranked in the teens - not how it works. There is very little movement in the baseball polls. For example, Texas is still a T10 team despite some completely embarrassing losses, since they started at the top of the polls.

One week at a time - Vandy is next, and they have the pitching to make our life a little difficult at the plate.

Up 2, needing just 6 more outs. Game 1 is so important in winning series. Plus we really ran up some pitches on one of their top bullpen arms. Looks like he only goes once per weekend.
