I’ve heard multiple rumors about Coke dropping a nicer, more legit UGA national championship bottle in the next couple of months, but every reliable source I’ve seen has teased and been behind a paywall. Is this real?

For those who don’t know, the “commemorative bottles” they sold on their website were arse:

Anyone with legit info, are there any known details about release timeline, how we’ll be able to get it?

The logo is a little lame, but I'll take this one.

Haven’t heard but what they did was trash and they should be embarrassed.

This. Their bottles are tiny compared to the 1980 ones, and the flimsy wrapper is the only thing that lets you know it's a commemorative bottle.

1980 bottle was truly dedicated to the championship with a custom Hairy Dawg, power G, and even had the '80 schedule on the back.

The new bottles look like someone spent 1 minute on the Coke website creating a custom label.

Agreed...

Went ahead and got one but at $6 for bottle and $6 shipping they coulda done a much better job.

Went to their site, looks like you can create personalized bottles. I suspect this is one...

I went on ebay and ordered a 1980 bottle and ordered one from coca-cola for this year. I'm not taking a chance they will do a better bottle. I'm thinking it is wishful thinking. We'll see, though.

I ordered 3 UGA bottles and 3 Braves bottles (they’re no better). Received a package with some lady’s name and my address on the mailing label. It had 6 UGA bottles in it. Contacted them, complained. They said, keep’em, we’ll send your corrected order. Got my bottle order and the AJC papers today.

The new Coke bottles suck because they are cookie cutter carbon copy fill-in-the-blank print outs no different than the nhl, or nba, or whatever champ bottles.

Aka: the perfect souvenir for clown world

The Dawgs and Braves might have bought the AJC another 5 years or so on their total life span with these championships. Keeping print alive, babbyyyyy

Take it with a grain of salt but a guy on another message board that allegedly works for coke in some capacity spoke on this a while ago. Apparently there's a shitton more design and planning and logistics and whatever involved (don't ask me why, idk) so coke put out an initial piece of shite version and will then eventually put out a godo version. He said they still at this point haven't even gotten around to doing a nice braves one, so a nice UGA one is still likely a ways off.

Yah, I'm not holding my breath. Coke is a shell of the company that it was back in the 80's. I know some people that worked there and they tell me corporate environment is rigid and not fun.

I found the Woodford bottle. Quite the upcharge ($96 with taxes/free shipping) for a $35 bottle of Avg Bourbon (Woodford Reserve Distiller's Select). They are in Ft Walton Beach. I placed my order this morning.

UGA National Champs Bourbon bottle.

They also have a Braves WS one:

Braves WS Championship bottle

I went and found the other post I mentioned on another site. This isn't really premium site content so I don't think it's too much of an issue to C&P I hope.

quote:

There will be a UGA Natty can coming out this year, size and packaging still to be determined, but will be sold in regular stores.

There will be a 8oz painted glass bottle as well, artwork yet to be approved, glass supply shortages will make it a struggle, packaging yet to be determined, could be sold as singles, could be sold as six pack in special cardboard carrier with graphics, will be a single production run of about 10k, and they will be sold in regular stores. Timing? Well, the Atlanta Braves custom World Champ bottle is coming out in April and they won it months ago, so don't be surprised if the UGA bottle comes out very late 2022 or even early 2023.

On the current abomination:

quote:

Those are a money grab by Coke North America, and a complaint was filed by local bottler. The painted bottle will be better. Packaged as six packs but most places will allow single bottle sales when they come out, probably around 2022 season opener.
