Yeah I’d be shocked if we don’t lead the league in departures since the end of the regular season

Of that list, I think we will miss Height, Hudson, Nix and Tennison the most. Maybe Hunter.

I think the difference is being in the portal doesn’t mean you’re gone.

I’m pretty butthurt about Pegues. I still think he had some maturing on the DL to do but he could’ve been a capable DL with some freak ability.

On that front, Matthews says transfer portal action is probably done for a while. Deadline to enroll at Auburn is tomorrow
We are after Nourzad and Steen but they’re May graduates.

We can still get players but they just can't participate until they start classes. Meaning would be well after spring.

Well, he probably wasn’t used to playing DL and going up against guys his size. I suspect he wants to play offense. I suspect Kiffen will put him in hybrid TE/FB role.

Dude, he was getting the ~3rd or 4th most snaps at DT by the end of the season.
Also; before this kid even signed with Auburn Kiffin thought his best future was at DT - this was in an interview. You realize he's listed at right under 310 pounds on the roster, right? Explain to me how/where he fits into Kiffin's offense? His offense looks for FAST mismatches at TE; guys that can go vertical. He doesn't use slow lardasses. And I seriously doubt that Pegues' "plan" is that he now all of a sudden wants to drop 50+ pounds lol.
I haven't seen a single thing about him moving because Kiffin has some super special offensive plan for him. I think we just got poached - there is talk that he was "contacted" by Ole Miss, and we just lost him. This is a real loss because not only does he have obvious upside/NFL potential, but he was also firmly in the playing rotation for us.

yeah he was on the verge of breaking out. I hope he has success except against us but he is an agile person out there and for a DL he is a hoss especially after he gets better technique.

I remember a quote or something from recruiting where Kiffin said he could be a top 10 pick on defense but we were selling him on offense.
It remains to be seen where his ceiling his but he was getting significantly better at DT as the year progressed. Sucks to lose him and Hunter.

I don't even know what thread to put these in now.. but Ian Matthews just announced he was entering the portal. He was a true freshman DT. Didn't play this year, but he is really athletic for his size.
