Why did none of Kelly’s top assistants follow him to LSU?

Brian Kelly took the majority of the budget.

Got to pay extra to get them to move to red stick

Because they hated working for him.

Then why did they work for him?

Rees even browsed Zillow for places to live in Baton Rouge. Some of his close friends were fired up about the idea of him in the SEC. A graduate assistant had a verbal agreement to go with him. His girlfriend was on board. He had talked with several people about the job and about LSU, including former LSU offensive coordinator Joe Brady, Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald and Notre Dame play-by-play TV announcer Mike Tirico.

Both are massive shitholes. One is freezing cold for a large part of the year. Has nothing to do with why they didn’t come. Freeman got promoted to HC and Reese played there and was given full control of the offense and play calling.
