I can halfway buy Brooks being a young version of Metchie but get outta here with the Slade and Billingsley stuff. They’ve had opportunities and are NOT that guy.

All Slade does is catch what's thrown his way. Not saying he's anywhere close to Metchie, but there's a reason he's out there.

He is not an outside receive and he’s not explosive at all. I’m not criticizing him but the fact is he isn’t Metchie and he’s not any type of adequate replacement. He does his job fine.

What if, and I'm just spitballing here, we clean up our clown car of mistakes from the first game? That might be easier and more effective than replacing Metchie.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see us in 2 TE sets a good bit, combined with tempo.
That, to me, would be ideal. Big enough to run block and pick up blitzes, with soft enough hands to catch passes in the vacated part of the field where the blitzing LBs come from.

Having GA send pressure more up the middle can be fixed with quick, short throws to the flat or any number of other things, but they'll need somebody to take the free space from the LBs to put up the short throws in the middle. Hopefully Latu and 19 can do it.

19 needs to come up big. If there's ever a moment for him to make an impact it's in this game. Latu had the touchdown yesterday but we'll see if he and Billingsley can be consistent.

Yeah 19 just hasn't really seemed motivated for some reason. I've seen him just half-arse a lot of plays, then suddenly look like his old self. We never know which version of him we're getting, so I'm hoping we feature Latu a bit more (although 19 may be a better blocker than Latu).

We all know how the 1st game went, but it's obviously different without metchie.

Why would we run a different offensive plan against UGA? They have an average pass defense and a great run defense. Metchie is a possession WR. Brooks is a game breaker. Metchie could’ve effected the game against Cincy but he won’t be missed against UGA.
The only thing that may cause us to run more would be BRob being healthy.

It's so surprising to me because he's so talented and showed his ability at times last year. He can make big plays. Caught the fourth and seven against Auburn on the game tying drive

Keep them from subbing out on D, and we can split Billingsly and Latu out or keep them in to block/pass pro depending on Georgias personnel.

Would be a great day if both Latu and Jahleel go off vs UGA. Been dying for them to be more involved.

Billingsly had a big first down catch vs Georgia when Bryce was throwing from inside the 10.

Bama has to make positive yardage on first downs. Run hurry up after positive plays. Don’t get greedy…take what the defense is giving them. If Georgia does bring pressure, we have to have some designed qb draws to mix in with slants and screens.
Defensively we just need to play like we have been doing the last few games. For the love, don’t do any of those 20 yard blitzes.
The only concern I have is our punting and that’s a huge concern!!!

I have zero doubt that UGA is going to blitz often. Bama needs to be able to run enough to keep them honest.

AND FOR GOD’S SAKE, THROW SOME SCREENS!!!!!
I don’t recall seeing a screen to a back this whole season.

The plan in the first game was to run side-to-side with tempo early to wear down their DL. I suspect they will do this again.

Brooks is a good possession receiver that can make contested catches but he isn't a speed burner like Jameson. We need a speed receiver to step up to take the pressure off Jameson.

Metchie is also a possession receiver. Jameson was the only speed guy to step up.

He's improved as the season went on. He's made some big catches the last couple games. But because of that dropped touchdown vs Florida and his New Iberia haircut, he gets a lot of undeserved hate.

Well he's shown that he is at least something of a deep threat.

Brings lots of pressure and their secondary tries to keep everything in front of them.

That leaves a lot of open space where those blitzing linebackers vacated
