Sadly, i believe it may. From now on Covid, portals, nil and god lnows what else. Hopefully, one day it will get back to the great sport it once was. If not , high school will be all continue to support.

Nah. 2013 Florida State was the last legitimate national champion because it was the year before the playoffs started. The playoffs killed college football. We have LSU fans to thank for that because they were bitching and moaning about having to play one of the two best teams twice in the same season.

Our quarterback was literally a transfer. A grad transfer but still a transfer none the less. College football has been headed in this direction for a long long time.

If portals make a championship illegitimate then wouldn’t burrow transferring to LSU make 2019 illegitimate?

LSU fans, after losing 10 of 11 to Alabama or whatever it is, and being complete trash the last two seasons, have turned into sad Tennessee fans trolling away endlessly because why the hell not?

You'll have to go back further than 2019 according to your guidelines. Your QB was a portal transfer...sorry.

"So the transfer portal isn't perfect -- in fact, it may not even be good. But it does allow for players like LSU QB Joe Burrow -- once-Ohio State QB Joe Burrow -- to find playing time and even an NFL future where they may not have found it. It allows for players like Burrow -- four-star recruits, who choose to stay in their home state, who seem in line behind J.T. Barrett and ahead of Dwayne Haskins for the 2018 starting gig before succumbing to injury -- to take their degree from their first institution, as well as their remaining eligibility, and try to revive their college careers elsewhere."

College football has never had a legitimate national champion and never will until it becomes less dependent on polls and committees.
