I mean.. bfd, you have rich donors. So does every other big div 1 school. Hell, look at Oregon with the founder of Nike. Is it still the little brother look at me syndrome with Texas, who has Michael Dell and Matthew McConaughey? Seriously trying to understand why they keep reminding us...

There are tons of boosters for Texas and Texas A&M who would be on suicide watch if they somehow woke up with Matthew McConaughey money.

Bragging about money is what you do when you haven't won anything. It's why Texas fans were always reminded about finishing "No. 1 in athletic revenue" when Charlie Strong was the coach.

The cool thing about revenue is it helps fund the rest of your sports. Football is going to make lots of money at just about any Power 5 school regardless of how good they are

Because “rich donor” sounds like “shite boner” which reminds them all of good times.

Hmmm, didn’t know that was a common thought… I’ve always thought every big state school has their fair share of big cigars.

You sound really upset.

A&M is far from the only school with rich donors and no one claimed we were the only ones with money. We just have a lot of them and in the new world of NIL money does make a difference. Many other SEC schools have rich donors as well and no doubt they will step up. Some schools are going to lose the arms race though.

Is this the 2nd or 3rd Gump that's butthurt about A&M's recruiting class being ranked above theirs?

A&M fans don’t think they are the only school with big donors.

To your point though, I agree that it’s not something to be bragging about. I’ve never done it. That’s something the lame t-sippers do.

Aggies are not as wealthy as they think. It’s petroleum back money. If oil/gas prices are high, the majority of their big donors (which is mostly petroleum base) increase. In years oil/gas prices decrease, their donation are almost non existence. The athletic dept still haven’t paid back loans they have borrowed from the academic dept. And the Kyle field upgrade still owes 100 of millions over the next 25 years or so.

Must be the investment in the stadium because they certainly suck arse in investing in getting players on campus in prior years.

You obviously do not know what you are talking about.

Go home Randy. No one wants your bullshite on this site. Did you get kicked off of surly too?

Every university has it's share of wealthy donors. A&M has their share but they are not in a league of their own by a long shot. A&M's big donors are in a variety of fields, not just oil and gas.

One thing A&M does have is a very active and generous alumni association that is probably second to none of any other university in the world. The percentage of former students giving back to the university is the highest in the country. Every donation is not huge but most give something back every year. Most start out with at least $100/year and go up from there. When you have an alumni association that is over half a million strong, even small donations start to add up

Who thinks that?

But I’m sure the shock value of your post will get you the needed number of likes you’re looking for from LSU fans.

How about some facts. Texas A&M is the wealthiest public university with an endowment of $10.52 Billion.

They are the 6th richest, if you include the private schools. We are just slightly behind MIT & Princeton.

Texas Aggie Exxon CEO hires Matthew McConaughey as his yard man. All right, all right, all right. Aggie Lyle Lovett says hello.

A&M former students are noted for giving back a portion of their wealth to the school.

And it is not just from the oil business.
