What will the City of Birmingham have to offer?

The Birmingham Bowl did pretty well, getting a top 20 team (Houston) and a local team (Auburn). Hopefully the game will provide a much needed economic shot in the arm for the area. I hope that they will put on a good show for the teams. The new stadium is pretty nice, and the perfect size for a mid to lower tier bowl. Having Top Golf next door can provide a great night out, but I hope that the City leaders can come up with a few more special events for the teams. (Maybe a visit to Children's Hospital?) I know that B'ham is not a top of the line destination, but, when my sons were in school, we had our fair share of visits to the Independence Bowl, and always managed to make a pretty good time of it. I hope that the Auburn and Houston fans can make the most of their visit.

There’s a Mugshots about a 6 iron from the stadium. Should be a delightful treat for Auburn fans attending the game.

We ate at the Southern Kitchen and Bar on the way to the beach this summer. There’s a Texas de Brazil there and the Birmingham Museum of Art is a few streets over.
Auburn shite on our season so I hope it’s 35 degrees , rainy and there’s 25 mph wind gusts.

Well, they had three homicides on Saturday, so maybe the visitors will see some excitement. Remember to duck.

Me too. That would benefit Auburn way more than Houston.

They should take the teams to the 230,000 square foot Barber Motorsports Museum and racetrack. It is the home to the Porsche Driving school as well as the largest motorcycle museum in the US with over 1600 bikes. The track is referred to as "The Augusta of Race Courses". The museum also has a large collection of Lotus race cars and other classic sports cars. There is always some event or the Porsche driving school going on. You can walk out over the track from the museum. Really a cool place to go even if you aren't necessarily a motorcycle fan.

My guess is most Bama Fans do not realize the reputation Birmingham has for great restaurants. Most never eat outside of the Olive Garden.

Saw's BBQ in Avondale should be on the list, for sure.

Birmingham is a cool little city. I'd imagine for the Houston fans (as half of the auburn fans live there/have spent time there) will enjoy the visit.
