Heading in to SECC Bama fans nervous due to spotty play. Dawg fans nervous

due to PTSD of being Dawg fans (note Bama- this isn't because of Bama and our last 2-3 games- goes well beyond that).

Set up is psychologically fascinating. First, top-to-bottom this is probably the most Elite talent to ever face off on a college football field. Elite talent rises to the occasion when challenged. And beyond talent- you can't play for Kirby or Saban on talent alone- you have to be tough. Players that make their way on to the field aren't scared and will not lay down no matter what.

Bama is the reigning and defending heavy weight champ. They haven't looked "Bama like" more than a few times this season. I don't think they care and I don't think they're the least bit scared. Game reminds me of the Rumble in the Jungle. Foreman nearly (and quite literally) beat Ali to death...and lost. Bama will come to play.

Dawgs on the other hand have been dominate. Unanimous #1 for 8-9 weeks. Unchallenged since game 2. But the "now they're the hunted" narrative doesn't work. Make no mistake, in Dawg's minds Bama is still the hunted. This is the game Dawg players and coaches (and most fans) wanted. They won't be timidly waiting for the other shoe to drop. They want to step on Bama's face with a hobnail boot.

Bottom line- this game will not be for the faint of heart. IMO this game will have to be won, not lost. To much pride/ talent/ coaching for either team to wilt.
