“He was there for 12 years, he did an excellent job… but I cannot think of one marquee win he ever had over a top-10 team, other than he beat Clemson when they had the second-string quarterback. When Clemson played them again the same year with Lawrence, they dominated Notre Dame, but he’s an excellent coach.
quote:
But the other thing that bothered me about him… he never talked about Notre Dame and what really made it great. To be part of Notre Dame you have to talk about the Lady on the Dome, you’ve got to feel the spirit of Notre Dame, you just gotta to be a part of it. It’s just something you feel an awesome responsibility to the Notre Dame fans but to Notre Dame itself and that never materialized. He left the program in much better shape than when he first arrived but to go somewhere for money, I just don’t think that’s the right reason.”

Then he was t a good fit and moved on.
All of the hand wringing is hilarious. Either he works out or he doesn’t.

Is “The Crowds Line” a chat room or something? No way anyone could decipher that long of a response from Holtz verbally.

I guess ND wasn't FAAAMMMMMILY

Posted on 12/3/21 at 7:54 am to HarsiningHard
so basically, it was just a job to Kelly. I expect that's the case with most coaches.

Shows how stupid you are to act like Lou wasn’t a good coach. Won a NC which is something the video killer hasn’t done
But I forget football didn’t start until 2000 for most LSU fans

How many paper towels were needed to clean up the spit after Holtz’s rant?

Lol, the guy was a legend and he won a NC in 88 with Notre Dame. So yeah, he was an excellent HC.
