It's going to be a long year with much pain. Not as bad as the Harsin days, but our lads got seriously whipped today.

The ugly:

O-line couldn't handle TAMU's D-line. They were man-handled after the first quarter allowing sack after sack.

Receivers couldn't catch.

Thorne was unsure, slow to read and hesitant.

Never do a three man rush against a QB with a good arm.

Too many wide open TAMU receivers and too little pressure on their QB.

The Bad:

Play calling on offense. TAMU was never surprised. Play calls were like elevator music.

Have Trooper Taylor come in to consult on receivers. Give the receivers to Bruce Pearl for a day a week until they can take those 50/50 balls/rebounds.

The good:

Defense scored and held up despite the offense going 3 and out repeatedly.

Some run offense happened.

Probably because of

It’s been like this for quite some time. QBs die here because the OLs we’ve had/have.

We should just let Geriner play, hand it off on 1st and 2nd down an throw on 3rd. Maybe run a draw play on 3rd down every so often to keep teams honest

What makes you think this? At least for this season?

Our offense was absolutely abysmal today. Like 4-8 bad.

We should spend all week practicing the triple option for the rest of the year

I am afraid we are going to have a lot of weekends like that. Arky and State are going to be struggles.

Yup.

The next few games will be brutal. I still think we get to a bowl game.

I agree. We better do something. I wasn’t expecting to really win today but after going to Cal I thought that would have instilled some confidence in our team but yikes. Now that being said aTm has way better talent than we do and should’ve shellacked us, props to Jimbo for being a fraud.

We have not passing QB. At all.

We seriously should revamp the offense entirely

This is reminiscent of 2011 and 2012 and I don’t like it. Kiehl Frazier, Clit Mosley

“This year will be Harsin bad”

On the field yes.

Recruiting is much, much better and as fans we can live with not winning as long as the coaches are recruiting and putting forth effort.

What was so infuriating about Harsin was he got that guaranteed money and basically retired. Harsin spent every Friday night watching Auburn High School and his son play football. Which is great for him but that means he wasn’t on the road recruiting.

I live in a very Auburn friendly suburb of Atlanta and my son plays high school football
On his team were 3 guys good enough to play for Auburn and they ended up at other schools.

Saban and Smart came to watch games and Harsin never visited the school.

Oh, and one of those players was a 4 star offensive tackle who grew up an Auburn fan. It was infuriating to watch.

As fans we can live with a bad team this year because Freeze is putting effort into recruiting.

It was miserably hot. The crowd was loud. Thorne doesn’t have the chops for big time SEC matchups.

Nice stadium though.

Chex said Thorne was amazing and we can compete for the SEC west. Pretty sure we got that going for us.

I don’t think their offense is anything special and they haven’t played anybody except SCAR. I’d be surprised if they score more than 20 but we might get lucky to kick a FG

Yep.

The DEFENSE is better than Harsin days.

But the offense? Pretty much the same or arguably worse.

Felt like we got Gus 2.0.

PT can't execute in big games.Put the Redshirt Frosh in and develop him for next year.
