Pistol pete will always be the best player in my eyes...

First, Clark has one milestone to pass: the 3,000-point marker. She has a chance to do so on Wednesday against Iowa State, as she enters the game with 2,954 points. If she does, she’d be the fastest to reach 3,000 points in 109 games, four more than current record-holder Elena Delle Donne.

Plum holds the all-time NCAA Division I scoring mark with 3,527 career points, and Clark is on pace to surpass it by the end of February. She’s also within reach of Pete Maravich’s all-time Division I scoring record of 3,667 points.

She may, but it will always come with an asterisk that Clark got the benefit of the 3 pt line.

it will be impressive though if she can somehow manage to break a men's basketball record despite playing women's basketball. That will be something special

Tired of this modern woke horseshite trying to conflate men's stats with women's stats.

Clark is a phenomenal talent. But she's putting those points up against women, with a 3 pt line, and with a shot clock.

There's simply no need to try and act as if they are stats from the same game. It's the same dumb crap ESPN did with Pat Summitt and Geno Auriemma and their titles v Coach Rupp, Bob Knight, Coach K, Dean Smith etc.

Not only does she have a 3 point line, she gets to throw a smaller ball at the same size basket that Pete had. People just don’t get that about women’s hoops.

Anyone who ever watched Pete play cannot deny his greatness in the sport. He did other crazy things than score but he was over the top in creating shots and scoring.

He was fun to watch no doubt.

Exactly, it's often said one can run circles around the other, but Pistol is probably the only who could've done literally and figuratively around anyone who played basketball.

Don't make me lump arky in with the ladies basketball fans in Baton Rouge.

I could score 2000 a season against women. She doesn't get an NCAA record. She gets a ladies record.

Whether she does or doesn't, her scoring has been insane. I wish our men's and women's teams had someone who could do what she does.

As has been said it’s apples and oranges for several reasons, but Clark sure is fun to watch. She single-handedly got me interested in girls college basketball last year. Not that I’ll follow it closely but I’ll tune in a few times to watch her cook, especially the postseason when it matters.

Something tells me pistol would have loved Clark's game. She is fun to watch and can shoot it from anywhere including half court.
