The common theme regarding this LSU-Alabama game

Obviously there's been a fair amount of trolling here however, after reading a lot of posts on various team boards, neither fanbase is really very comfortable in winning this game.
It seems to be more of a question mark than any other Bama-LSU matchup in recent history.
Hopefully, we get a good, entertaining game.

I think the bama fans are always confident they will win against anyone

This is a fun team that has gotten better and plays really hard, but they are not a team that instills a ton of confidence week to week. Certainly not enough to be "totally sure" of a win against anybody with a pulse.

Last week, there was very little confidence at all.
This week, they are a little more confident after realizing that Wingo will be out and the secondary will be a patchwork of freshmen however there is still a lot of uncertainty, in general, on their boards.

The biggest thing for us is that our offense is weirdly almost independent of the caliber of the defense we are facing. We can score points against anybody when we are playing well and Rees is in a good flow. We can also put up 3 straight ugly, 3 and out drives against anybody.
So while a bad LSU defense certainly helps, it does not automatically mean we'll never punt (unlike some of our past teams who could complete 8-12 yard passes against air in their sleep). And while I think our defense is very good and will get some stops, LSU's offense is elite and will score a bunch, meaning we can't afford 3 straight mindnumbingly bad offensive possessions.

Oustside of 2020, I don't recall a game vs LSU that I really thought was a foregone conclusion, especially a home game vs LSU since the 80s.

The LSU defense with or without their starters is enough to instill confidence in any opposing team.

This is a fun team
I am surprised a bama fan would say this...i would think frustrating would be used over fun.
Yall are so accustomed to having an elite qb that having to watch one develop would make it frustrating.

Except for the fact that Jalen, while I love him to death, is capable of having a quarter where he can't hit wide open receivers (see Arkansas). And in that instance the quality of the defense is almost irrelevant.

It's fun because they don't wilt under the pressure and seem to play with brass balls. The last 2 seasons have been filled with "nervous energy" and wilting in big moments that it is nice to see a team that truly enjoys close games and big moments. It also feels like they are pretty much playing to their potential at most spots (save a few, offensive line cough cough) and we are seeing genuine improvement as the year has progressed (WR, DL, LB, DB, QB).
Don't get me wrong, it can be extremely frustrating, but the core attitude and demeanor of this bunch is fun to be a fan of.

I’m so excited for this game. Whoever loses will have their season ended.
Can’t wait

As an LSU fan, I always assume Bama beats us but I do have a very healthy grain of skepticism this time. If I were betting, I’d bet on Bama but I wouldn’t be surprised to see LSU win.

I've got Alabama winning 37 to 27. That's pretty comfortable.

I feel like LSU’s defense is so banged up (and obviously the defense wasn’t all that good even before this avalanche of injuries) that it’s clear Alabama will have a good deal of success moving the ball. I feel like we almost have to have that really bad Milroe decision throwing the football at some point in this game to get a win.

And yet most still expect a close game in Tuscaloosa.

The 85 Bears couldn’t hold this team to 27 points. I’m not saying that LSU wins, because our defense can’t stop bad offenses even when they’re healthy, but I’d love a hit of what you’re smoking thinking Bama is going to stifle this defense.
Both teams will score at least 35.

Don't worry, your season will be over when we beat you in the CFP. Your weak-arse cakewalk of a schedule will eventually catch up to you sooner or later.

TIL the 2023 FSU defense is better than the '85 bears.
