Not an Aggie and will get tons of downvotes but attend the yell practice. I found it to be awesome experience

If you go to yell practice and see a 20 dollar bill on the ground do not bend over and pick it up…….

Go to the Chicken. Buy a cheeeburger. Drink some beer.
Go visit Blue Bell Creameries in Brenham.
Waller County Line BBQ is pretty damn good. It’s at a gas station. Don’t hate. It’s damn good food.
There’s some really good bakeries in that area as I recall as well.
And of course stop at anyone’s tailgate. They will treat you like family.

I don’t know if he’s looking to spend money or wants to do dives lol
He can go shoot pool at Poets, go to Cafe Capri in Bryan if he wants Italian. He can go to the Republic for chicken fried filet mignon and a bottle of wine, I don’t know if he just wants to get a slice of pizza at Antonio’s or needs a Sushi spot. I don’t know if he wants to go on a date per se or get day drunk with his gal to help him.

Bush library is cool. There used to be a pretty regular rodeo in Bryan, but I’m not sure it’s still operating. Washington On The Brazos isn’t far if you’re serious about the love of Texas.

If you like to watch paint dry or grass grow, stay around Navasota/Bryan/cs. If you want to have a fun couple of days, drive 2 hours west to San Marcos/New Braunfels. There’s too much stuff to do there to list.

It’s a niche thing, but if you’d like to try some local mead, this place is in Navasota. Food trucks, shopping, etc onsite as well. Bee Weaver Farms
