And then the top 4 seeds all advance to the winners bracket. I can assure you that the players care. There have been some passionate games so far and it’ll get better as it goes. Arkansas and LSU should be a game for the ages tonight.

It was a pretty good crowd out there yesterday and will only get more when people do not have work to attend to. Sure it’s nice to say baseball isn’t popular, but it seems to be pretty damn popular in the South.

I watch as much as I can but I can assure you it's totally meaningless to me for the second years in a row.

It is meaningless but it’s still a great event having all the stars at one place

of course players are going to try to play well and win. I wouldn't say meaningless, but coaches are not going to take chances with pitchers in order to win games unless they need the game for the national tournament seeding.

When people say the tournament is meaningless, I don't think anyone pictures guys throwing the game so they don't have to play anymore. It's just that getting eliminated doesn't hurt like getting eliminated in the national tournament. Hell, a lot of people feel the same about the SEC basketball tourney.

But Arkansas did come from behind to win their game that A&M seemingly had control of the entire time. And there weren't that many Florida fans in the stands compared to Bama fans at a game in Bham, but the ones who were there were going absolutely insane. The Bama fans and players did the exa t same in the top of the inning when their guy had a bases clearing double to put them up 3 runs in extra innings. The stadium went bananas.

People care.

I care.

Do I want my team to win the tourney? Hell Yes

If my team is in the regionals and end up losing early in the SEC a horrible thing? No

But I would love for Auburn to win the SEC tournament

Those who say they don’t like college baseball come from fan bases that put out bad products. I never cared for baseball until DVH put Arkansas on the map in the early 2000’s. If these Georgia fans, for example, start getting a good product, they’ll start enjoying it. Same with basketball for them.

SEC title was decided last week. The tournament is meaningless. I watched a combined 3 innings out of the 40 or so played yesterday. Loser of the late game yesterday, that started close to 11pm, will be moving back to the park about 8hrs after they got back to the hotel.

It's the worst run tournament in all of sports with zero regard for the players. It's just the SEC trying to cram in a fund raising event before regionals.

If athletic directors and school presidents actually cared about the athletes they would refuse to show up, especially the top seeds, as they are already going to host in the post season, no matter what.

I love college sports but at some point you have to admit that the athletes often get treated like cattle. In many ways they are provided with excellent treatment that no other student could hope for, but in things like this tournament, it's just a disrespect for their health and their time and the ultimate goal of getting to Omaha to win a national title.

I can tell you never played a sporting event in your life. There isn't a player on any team there that isn't happy as shite to be there and is jazzed to play. What a moronic post.

It is meaningful until you are put out, then it is meaningless
