o that's 2 players arrested who didn't miss a snap for it and Atkins gets suspended for "attitude"... Sorry but I can't support that BS double standard. Its clear favorites are getting a pass. I think its funny we never heard a bad word about Atkins all last year or in preseason, but suddenly he's this big problem.

What's his motive to suspend one of our, if not the best player on our defense?

Absolutely NIL did.
I have been to countless college football, basketball, and baseball games. Why? My love of amateur sports.
I have been to 0 NFL games, 1 NBA game, and maybe 10 MLB games. Why? I don’t like professional sports.
And NIL has turned college sports professional.

You really believe players are just now getting paid?

Across the board? Yes. The numbers that they are requesting? Yes. Did they receive much smaller amounts before? At most top 50 schools, yes. But greed has taken over.

Take a look around you, it's not just college sports. The rat race has taken over just about every industry. Admittedly, the college sports landscape held out a little longer, but it chases the almighty dollar all the same.

Golesh now saying Atkins is not with the team. Not just suspended but not there. Got mad and quit?

The way Golesh worded it to me seems like he’s not with the team traveling and CAG will address it next week?

Maybe he can work his way back. Seemed like a lot of teammates were pushing for a punishment to happen

Probably just for the game.

He aint getting mad and quitting. He would forfeit his NIL for the rest of the season and cant sign with anyone else mid season. His stock will be devalued at this point if he does leave. College football aint full of Oakland Raiders, and they know a discount when they see one.

He is a third rounder at best right now if he quit and went early in the draft. Concerns about (jang was right) finishing tackles, and coverage skills because he has not been asked to do so.

If he is allowed he will be back in another week, and a better man for it.

FYI, AuburnSports.com Friday podcast makes it sound like everyone shouldn't want him back and that he will not be back...just unfortunate issues that that X won't solve.

Also from the podcast, for the first time, seems the direction of the program is bleak. Shockingly, no one seems to think AG will modify the offense - offense won't work in the SEC sorry. AG getting snippy.

We should have given up on the neato scheme BS after the Freeze disaster.

We need a defensive minded coach who is a solid manager should we walk this path again soon.

This I don't get. The offense has been shown to work in the SEC though. We may not have the players or coaches to execute it well enough, there is an argument for that, but the scheme itself has worked.

My question is what offense? AG doesn't really have an identity

The wide split veer & shoot

Tennessee and MSU are also running version of it.

In our version, the wide split must be between every offensive linemen.

The veer must be where QB or RB has to veer immediately to avoid sacks and TFLs.

The shoot must be where we watch and consider who needs to be shot since this offense is a capital offense.

Execution has been very poor, yes.

We also seem to have the same problem we've had since covid era or so where our QB's just routinely don't throw to wide open people. Regardless of what offense we run, that problem has been consistent through every QB. Baffeling to say the least.
