In spite of him, really.

I don't know where or how to rank them. I do know Thorne scares me on every snap as much as any Auburn QB I have ever watched. His level of football dumbness knows no limits.

Cox was mediocre. Won a couple big games and all the Iron Bowls and that's about it. Coaches should have recruited over him.
Senior season 9 TDs and 13 INTs.

He gets a pass for the Franklin nightmare.

Actually with the benefit of hindsight that would have been a year later lol.

Never lost to bama. Had 50 wins as an Auburn Tiger and boasted a 29-9 record as a starter. Winning matters. Stats are for analytic nerds

Our Offense was loaded in 2006 as well.
RB: Kenny Irons, Ben Tate, Tre Smith, Brad Lester

WR: Courtney Taylor, Prechae Rodriguez, Rod Smith

OL: King Dunlap, Ben Grubbs, Tim Duckworth

14 TDs, 9 INTs

Cox was the position that held us back.

Auburn won on defense in that era.

And I do like Cox. I played with him at Trussville. He was tough as nails and all that but he was playing more of a “hold serve and don’t lose the game” role than make plays to win it.

Mind you he won us some games with his play.

I'd take Cox over Thorne any day of the week

Championships matter. He played his way out of those opportunities many times.

I'd take Cox's roster over Thorne's any day of the week. Thorne might throw for 30 titties again.

Nobody still holds contempt in their hearts for how Cox gifted Georgia our souls in back to back years and it shows. That rivalry hasnt been the same since.

Not to defend KF and suggest he isn’t #1, but if Cox gets a pass for Franklin, how is it not fair to say the same about KF with the joke that was Scot Loeffler?

That said KF was just terrible

IIRC, he had girlfriend issues… caused him to take a mental break

You’re QB1, drop her and find someone to ‘elevate’ your game.

Barrett Trotter was far more serviceable than what we currently have. He balled out against Virginia in the bowl game. I felt so bad at how he was treated by AU fans knowing what I know now

We'd be undefeated right now with Barrett Trotter.

My season seats at Auburn for many years was right behind Brandon and his group. Saw and talked to him for many years at the games. He was a very nice guy and extremely likable as was his entire group of about 8 (4 guys and 4 girls).

I will never forget him losing him mind at the Kick 6 game. Was amazing to see a guy who had been there done that on the field lose his damn mind in the stands. It was fun as hell.

I liked him when he played and he seems to be a solid individual off the field.

I Will never say a bad thing about that guy.

This is a stretch. Many balled out against Virginia. McCallebb looked like he was a solid 3 strides faster than anybody on that team
