If Pearl makes the Tourny we fine. That’s all you really need to do and win a game or two. This team is good enough to do that but the margins are thin. Still think we make the Tourny.

We might not make the tournament if we lose to LSU/Oklahoma/Ole Miss.
A win on the road at Bama would lock us in - I think.
Either way, I would not put a stack on this team making the sweet 16. I’d put the odds at 1 and done or not making it more likely than sweet 16.
At What part of the game is this team great?
Offense?
Defense?
Specials?
Who is elite on this team?
I do like SWA/Freeman/Jovic as a nucleus going forward, but with the portal who knows who we might get or lose.

I'd like noting more than HORRIBLY embarrass and send the message that first win was stolen by a corrupt University and rubber stamped by an ineffective NCAA. I think Steven gets another year regardless what happens the rest of the year.
I have heard they want to give him a chance to build his own roster this offseason.

Of course he gets another year. This roster is just a weird mix of guys with no true point guard. First year coach with this roster playing toughest schedule in the country- you cannot him fire with all that. I just hope there’s enough money available to give him a chance of adding some good pieces.

He was Director of Transfer recruiting. He has identified hits and misses. When it comes to the "roster" that's so cynical is just three players.
Honestly, yes I lean closer to this than the other extreme.
Regardless, I am more interested in hearing what Martay Barnes thought of his visit.

He would have had to have totally tanked not to get a second year. I personally think we're just putting off the inevitable but I've been wrong before so I guess we'll all see how it plays out.

I don't really like this team and roster but it was always in the cards when you are replacing 11 of 12 guys. We don't stack talent nor have a purse like Duke or others who can just completely reload. We paid the bulk of our NIL purse towards 2 players and they have both been disappointing relative to their price tag. I do agree it IS on the Pearl's but the Pearl's (combined) have earned plenty of goodwill with all of us for one down year. Steven by himself doesn't have that luxury, so if next years roster isn't an improvement his seat will start getting warm.

His teams have only made to the 2nd weekend of the Tournament once (5 Tournament wins in the last 10 years), and he wasn't even on the court for it. They are currently only 7 spots ahead of Auburn in the NET rankings, and lost to Auburn. Also lost to 2-13 Georgia Tech at home, which is a Quad 4 Loss.

He wouldn't take this job. he has a better one. They gave him twice as much nil this year as Bruce could get after 2 final 4s and are shooting for $20m next year.

This team beat a top 10 Florida team by 20 in their house. They are pretty good team. Most losses are by a possession or two and we’ve only gotten smoked by UM and UA who are top 3 teams
