LSU Athletics generated more than $2.259 million in net revenue* from the sale of 280,000+ alcoholic beverages in the public areas of Tiger Stadium in 2019 (not including alcohol sales in premium areas).

Contrary to public belief, combating the unruly drunks has been a problem for decades. Might as well make money from the sales and allow fans to have a beer.

Has something changed where Auburn has said they aren’t going to be allowing alcohol sales in the future? We already do it in the club levels.

No clue. If anything I could see it helping with the “unruly drunks” since people won’t be pounding 4 drinks right before walking into the stadium.

Don’t think so. They did say they weren’t interested in selling alcohol before this past season.

Alcohol sales would be even higher at Auburn. How many times have you watch Gus’ offense and thought, “damn, I need a drink!”?

As far as I am aware, I do think there is the intent to start selling alcohol to the general public. This past season it was mainly a logistics thing so close to the season.

LSU had been working on their end for close to a year I believe before the SEC ruling was made. Ole Miss tried to rush into doing it this season, and I think I read it was a pretty big mess.

I completely agree though, if the University comes out and decides to only sell to the club levels. It would be a completely stupid. It is a great source of revenue and all the arguments about people being too drunk in games have pretty much all been proven false.

Ah yes, the club levels.

Silly peasants don't deserve to drink.

Maybe we should kiss their arse too.

You’re not lying. I always have to park way off from the Auburn stadium and go down a huge hill to get to the stadium. I double chug beers. Walk down the hill and mingle. Then right before the game I walk all the way up the hill just to drink some more because I’m already feaming after popping the top.

I think most research into have said this is the outcome, or at least hasn't done anything to increase the numbers. You don't have the people pounding drinks right before, people aren't sneaking in liquor as much and instead drinking beer in the games, etc.

Best thing about the Arky game was pounding local IPAs like it was my job. Amazing Auburn has done this yet. Perhaps it would discourage the teenagers from pounding bourbon at the game.

At 8 dollars a beer, I don’t think I’ll get drunk.

In 90+ degree heat, I probably will stick to water.

I’m ok if others want to buy beer.

I just would like every seat to be a chair back with a cup holder. Reduce capacity to 75000 or so. The future is going to be tough for the bleacher type seating. People want more amenities and comfort.

It takes some time, so look for more schools to start this fall. Auburn will have to increase insurance coverage, decide where and how to sell (most concession stands are manned by volunteers who keep a part of the money). There will a need for Human Resources to sell it. Training to ensure minors do not get Alcohol, etc. don’t sell to drunks.

Logistics was tough to start this year. I look for it to be available next year for football and basketball and this year for baseball.

You can do what you want. I, for one, would love to have a nice, cold, tall locally craft IPA during the game. This is even more true for those early season games when it's 90+.

I’ve been experimenting with IPA’s lately. What kind do you like?

Think it was the short notice after the ruling. I believe they made some $ on selling passes to the new alcohol den / recruiting center upstairs.

Got to imagine long term they will do it, too much $ involved.

Not sure if they’re available where you’re at, but Trimtab and Straight to Ale are my personal favorites.

You’ve probably noticed IPA is diverse style within itself. What have you liked about the ones you’ve had so far?

There’s a lot of different directions you could go in

That’s great. I think the school and fans can benefit from it.

I also think the stadium can strengthen security and maintain a family friendly atmosphere.

Cannot think of one reason why we shouldn’t get it rolling.

All of them.

Seriously, it's my favorite style. They all taste a little different, but they are all good to me. Good People IPA is the standard I judge all IPAs by now. It's very good and what an IPA should be: a bitter, up front, hoppy beer.
