Me.. He might be killing it this game, but then he goes on to get killed by the likes of Syracuse.

He's the black Tubs.

In all fairness, he does coach at Louisville.

He was down my list. I think he was in my top 5. I still wouldn't move him up though.

You mean the guy that tied with 3 other teams for the big east. Next are you going to ask me if id rather not play big east teams for fear of thieir vast superiority.

No Shawn Watson love. Their offends is moving the ball. Since snapshot judgements are the way to do this he looks like the best candidate.

They've been to multiple BCS games with multiple coaches.. They're mid range.. Definitely not bottom of barrel.

I like the guy, but he seems to blow his coaching load some weeks - a lot like Tubs did. Don't get me wrong, it was exciting seeing AU win games they were underdogs in - just bugged the shite out of me to bet a top 5 then lose to an unranked the next week.

No way Strong answers to J. Jacobs and crew. He would want to run his own show.

I didn't have him in my top 10. Let's see what he does next year...I know it is Florida and all but have you watched any prior Florida games this year? They struggled with a few teams this year that they should have easily rolled...switch QBs between the two teams and see what happens in this game...

I can't see why anybody would want a coach of a certain race. It shouldn't matter. All that matters is who would be the best coach for your program at that time. Race has no effect on that.

It shouldn't matter, but it does. Your naive to think otherwise. I don't know what the percentage of SEC caliber football athletes are black, but its a lot. Having a headcoach that's black would be a positive especially seeing as how lots of athletes consider their coach as a father figure.

It's minimal. Kids don't choose other schools over Alabama, Oregon, Ohio state, Georgia, LSU, because those schools don't have black head coaches.

I get the father figure thing, but kids spend waaay more time with positional coaches and other assistants than the head coach anyway. Not saying that you're all set to avoid hiring black head coaches so long as you mix it up among the assistants, but kids want education and a shot at going pro and the schools that offer both get recruits. It would be a positive for some recruits but I've never seen it be a deciding factor.

So you want a coach because he might bring in a couple more black recruits than we usually get? This point was brought up during the coaching search and its a stupid one. Most kids don't pick schools because their head coach is black. What schools are suddenly taking in recruits because they have a black head coach?

They had no problem looking to Chizik as a father figure either. You don't have to be black to be their father figure. You just have to be father like. Race is pretty much a non factor in most things today.
