Second that...even if I have to wear a mask. I'm a fan first.
Saw on a media twitter feed, it would be around 16,000 fans allowed which is about 18% capacity, so it could be higher if they may allow 20%.

It was hard for me to want to drive down and sit in the blazing heat before all this. I can’t imagine sitting through some of the games I’ve sat through with a mask on. Gonna hard to not default to hanging out the house either in the AC or shade this year.

curious as to why you feel they will not allow season ticket holders. I believe it will be a mix of students and season ticket holders.

I’m not sure you will be allowed to have that many in the stadium. Because of that, I’m assuming students will get first dibs at attending, and they should. Any cap left after them could be opened up to season ticket holders.

20% of capacity would be just under 17,500 folks.
Anyone know what the typical number of students in the student section is?
Also curious as to how the band will work. That would be a couple of hundred kids jammed together normally, but if they are all spread out, it is gonna sound really weird.

Since they are taking a substantial hit in ticket sales, I would think they will want some donor money coming in, and that would mean some season ticket holders as well as some students.

If only students are allowed, it will greatly reduces the ticket revenue.

It’s about 17% of stadium capacity

I think student section is roughly 15000 or so, maybe a little less.

As much as it would suck for the rest of us geezers the right thing to do is let the students in. If there are any tickets left after that they can figure something out but any student that wants in should have first priority.
The uber rich can get the boxes and suites.

Hoping for a free-for-all general admission in the upper deck for us peasants

Yep, right thing to do is give the students the first priority here. They only get a finite number of seasons as a student.

I think they will allocate according to the quality of the team.
THe only way the AD can recoup any of the revenues is to allow as many ticket season holders to go to some of the games, not the students.
So i can see more student allocations for weak SEC opponents like Arkansas. But for the LSU and the opening game, I can see them giving more tickets to season ticket holders to get that revenue.
I know it's just Arkansas but i think they are only allocating 1,300 tickets for students.

What’s the math in the 20% #? Anyone know?
Why not 50% and mask required? I hate the mask thing but it would appease many.

Anyone in the Oaks & Talon Society I would assume will get their seats.
Another consideration, very likely, almost no one will get THEIR seats in that their seat location will almost certainly have to move to meet distancing requirements. Assuming they go by ticket priority, how many high-dollar donors are going to be willing to switch 40 or 50 yard line or club level seats for end zone or upper deck? If you value socializing at games, very likely you won't be seeing the people you've been sitting near for 10 years, 20 years or more.
Seems likely season ticket holders will be getting some notification asking them to opt in or out for the season. Some will see the risk as too great, or like me, question how much fun it will really be. I'm a fan too, but money back seems like the better value.
Another option might be attending only one or two games: 87,000 divided by 5 games would be right at the expected limited capacity number.
Though the revenue hit would be significant, I do like the idea of students only...increased exposure is not that great nor is their risk.

Will agree with this and if it is limited seating I want the drunkest loudest people there and students will be the loudest. However dont see the university passing up donor money for tickets so I could see something were only upperclassmen get student tickets and some donors get tickets as well.

Alabama just announced 20% capacity with offering two different ticket packages people can enter to buy.
What they don't say is what is the plan for the tickets you've already bought?

I would assume that depending on which package you pick, whatever the difference that cost will be against what you already had paid for tickets will be refunded.

since demand for tickets is going to go up that will be an unsolicited donation.
This year is going to kill some programs I dont see any coaches with buyouts getting fired, I heard on the radio that PAC 12 was looking to do loans for all the schools to help cover operating costs.
