I’m going to go ahead and say it, I love the idea of this being the starting defensive line:
BUCK: Nick Coe
DT: Dontavious Russell
DT: Derrick Brown
SDE: Marlon Davidson
That’s a lot of athleticism combined with size.

So you are trashing Gus because in a hypothetical scenario one of the freshman should start but Gus wants to start Slayton instead.

Agreed. I'm a big TD fan but would love to find a way to get Coe & Davidson on field more together.
Excited to see what AU's Cheetah package looks like this year. Could have TD/Big Kat on outside & Coe/Davidson on inside

This kinda puts how far we've come into perspective. Doughty might have been the best player on any of Barbee's teams and he likely won't be on the floor for tip-off this year.

Is Russell a lock to start inside? I'm wondering if we'd rather Marlon take his place inside and have Coe and Moultry at the bookends. That would most likely make it look like this:

My hot take is that Asa will be starting or at least getting a majority of the carries by game six. The rest of the line up I pretty much agree with. Not sure having the title of starter at Buck will have any real significance outside of who’s out there on the first play, I have a feeling they’ll be rotating there quite frequently.
