Unfortunately I think we are likely to be in the same situation 3 years from now. I hope that doesn't happen but it does seem probable.

We're not hiring Les Miles. I'm pretty sure i read elsewhere recently that he's got some serious health issues, which is why he's not currently coaching anywhere.

Wasn’t he accused of some pretty sordid stuff, like Title IX stuff, at his last stop? Not that stuff like that has stopped us before…

If Durkin leaves after we hire someone else, would love to see the new coach go out and get Sandusky to run the D

I agree. Id be more confident in him winning than Sumerall. I hope the guy hits a grand slam. The "potential" I can see. There's also potential he could be Harsin Jr. Ive always been overly optimistic when it comes to Auburn but thats changing. Im gonna need a top 10 recruiting class and portal Cam Ward to expect more than 7 wins next year.

Hopefully the bad luck left with Freeze

It has been 10 plus years of below average shite. It's like Auburn has forgotten how to be better

We need to aim higher this go around, show we are trying. From Freeze to a G5 coach doesn't really feel like it

Keith Neibuhr shared to his followers that a former Auburn assistant believes it's only down to Sumrall and Durkin and the longer we wait with Sumrall the greater likelihood of losing him.

I have to believe we are already done. The source that told me Sumrall still says he is the guy.

Yes, it has been too long, but 2017 (beat Jawja, beat Bama, SEC Championship appearance) was less than 10 years ago.

Wow, we really are trying harder! The last 10 years of shite has coincided with my kids growing and playing more travel sports, my weekends are slammed, but I've made an effort to keep up and watch. The passion for it and my effort has gotten. Increasingly less year to year. We hire Durkin, I personally won't put forth the effort. It's sad to say this, but it won't be that hard to walk away. The lack of giving a shite from top to bottom, and everywhere in between is exhausting.

We have become the place to come to and get fired, and walk away wealthy

Sorry but Brohm or whatever p4 coach you probably have in mind doesn’t excite me much more than Sumrall

I have heard a phrase from Auburn people more and more that I believe sums up why we don't try harder. "War Eagle Anyways". If the entire fan base has that attitude, and keep acting like this is OK, nothing will ever change because the fat cats think we are all fine with the shite.

I know Brohm or Dilly or anyone else is not a guarantee. But it is a message. We will take whoever's coach we need to take to try to get back to contending. Sumrall or worse, the UTSA coach someone was pumping, sends a "War Eagle Anyways" message. If you don't agree with that you either don't care or you're new here and haven't experienced what we once were. We didn't win every game, but we also never went into any games knowing we had no chance of it

Pretty much where Im at too. I was more excited going into this year than any year since 2019 and likely longer. I won't lie, there are points early in and before the season I thought 10 wins was very possibly and looking likely. Between this year and not making a "Splash" hire is too much.

I expect 6-6 from here to eternity until Im shown otherwise.Thats hard to do with all the little spouts of hope that you hear about the team by the 1st game.

Brohm would be a slightly better hire on paper right now I will grant you that. But Sumrall has a higher chance of having a statue at some point
