Not coaching Ole Miss in the playoffs, huh? I agree with what this guy said...

Would we even want to hire a guy who walked out on his team for a new job just as he was about to take them to the playoffs? (I wouldn't.)

And if it did happen, the media is going to crush LSU and Kiffin for Kiffin bailing on Ole Miss before the playoffs.

I think Lane is staying in Oxford.

The Coaching Change board is SURE that it’s Kiffin to LSU. They’ve had 3 plane threads today. Hahahahahahahaha

That place is nuts. Corndogs be crazy!!!

It is going to be glorious if Kiffin doesn't happen. Another Tom Herman, Lincoln Riley style melt.

He is trolling LSU for a raise like he did us. This will happen every couple of years.

The fact LSU thinks they can afford him. Didn't they almost have to cancel football during Covid? Then this whole Kelly fiasco

Would we entertain sark if Texas wanted to let us have him? Yes.

I'm wondering if it would be Ole Miss making that call. If Lane's working on building his staff at a new place, how focused will he be in game prep? Was it Lane leaving Bama for FAU where people felt he slacked off on game prep and cost Bama a game in the playoffs?

Im 100% on Sumrall train. I want a defensive head coach now. Tired of trying offensive geniuses that forget how to offense. Don't want anyone from the Malzahn coaching tree either.

I think the vast majority of the Auburn fanbase feels the same way. I would be shocked if it were Drink. He isn't a bad coach, though. He's a pretty good coach, imho. However, a majority of the fanbase, right or wrong, is going to feel like it's Malzahn/Freeze all over again. .

Sumrall feels like he was born to coach Auburn Football. If he hits, there's a chance we could have a lot of good years with him.

I know you don't hire because of feelings,, or where a coach's wife went to school, or where they're from, but from everything I've heard, the guy is an amazing coach, he wants to be in Auburn, oh, and by the way, he's all of those other things, as well.

How come Auburn is waiting for the announcement then? Tulane only has a 26% chance of making the Playoffs

Could be. I brought up that possibility in my expend post ranting on the subject. Pretty shitty of Kiffin, either way. If he’s not 100% focused on winning a NC with Old Miss right now, I wouldn’t want him. YOU’RE going to be next!

That said, I still don’t think Kiffin is going anywhere. We’ll see.

So we're going to go budget hire again? What is saved on the front of a deal is not near as damaging as the risk of another buyout

Kelly's contract does have a mitigation clause. When they offered him the $25 then $30 million they offered to remove it. I was surprised he didn't take it, tbh
