We have a guy with a comparable record and probably a better pedigree and I would argue a much larger coaching network to hire from on our staff right now. If Lea is the hire why not promote Durkin?

It's just silly to think that he would exclude or move completely away from Brown. That's what Sumrall knows.

So you seem to know a lot about that...so how long was he with Brown?

So which part of Brown's offense did you not like? His Air Raid or Ground & Pound?

I wonder why he doesn't go for someone from the "The Gorgeous" Al Borgess west coast philosophy. as he was with him twice as long...but yeah so he was under different types of Offenses over his career so only will go with one he was with for 2 years at most...Logic. Especially since he was on Defense his entire career with a stint of ST. Dude can't like the GO GO, or his current balanced fast paced offense?

Brother I got news for you.

We’re going to hire someone about like that, Brohm or otherwise. Have you seen the list of candidates we have?

I don't get the Lea hate.
He hasn't done shite until he raided New Mexico State of players AND coaches. At this point, all we know is Vandy has a really good QB. What kind of team do they field next year. My guess is, something akin to what they had before Pavia showed up.

You guys all want a "CEO coach" but then subsequently punish a guy for making the best CEO move in college football by bringing in Pavia/Kill/Beck.

I will give him credit for that. However, the question is whee was this move in 20, 22 & 23? What will he do next year? He will go back or maintain .500

Pavia claim is that he is 6ft but he is shorter than that built like a truck. I liked him before we played him. After he got there from the NM Military Institute. Local guy had a grand kid playing there so I paid attention.

If Lea was such a great catch he would have been scooped up last year after 4 years at Vandy. If Cohen picks him...he will need to resign as we will be here in a couple of years.

If Cohen does this or picks Franklin...I would rather him pick up the phone and call Jeff Bourne and ask him who he would hire. Then go out and hire that mother...because Jeff Bourne has hit some winners. A couple have had issues after moving on but others are doing well.

his team has looked sloppy and undisciplined the past 2 weeks.

Yes they have and why he hasn't put it all together yet...Tonight people can say it was on the kicker & when you know your kicker is off you need to adjust. He is the play caller.& there were unnecessary penalties at the end that were costly. Dabo tried to give it to them with the bad snap on the punt...so that is on the coach...

You may be right. I’d say at least Sumrall has an unknown ceiling. We know what we’d get with Brohm, and it’s mid. Now, sure, Sumrall might turn out to be worse than Brohm would ever be. But who else are we going to hire?

I was way high on Franklin at first, but some of the posters on here did bring some concerns to my attention.

Kiffin? He is going to be the hot candidate every coaching cycle. Even if we could get him to come, we’d be fighting every job opening every year to keep him (like Ole Miss is now).

Who else? Durkin? Meh. Lashlee? Meh. Lea? No thank you. He check his record without Diego.

Dillingham would be my first choice (if we’re not counting Lanning, of course) and is probably our best option, but who knows if he’d leave mama.

I’m out of ideas.

The only likely conclusion is that we are collectively going to be disappointed and spend the next 10 months talking ourselves into some hopeful situation.

I’ll be shocked if the staff isn’t

Sumrall
OC Neal Brown
Dc DJD

Defensive staff probably stays largely intact.
I’d expect Craddock to follow Sumrall likely as qb coach.

Smurphy do you have sauces?

The idea of DJD staying on as DC under Sumrall just seems very very unlikely to me.

He has already interviewed. He wouldn't do that if he had zero interest in leaving.

It looks like LSU and PSU are both zeroing in on him now as well, so it could get interesting.

Maybe it's just me and a non-issue for most people, but why would anyone, especially an Arizona boy, want to deal with Pennsylvania winters when there are plenty of other jobs where he can make stupid good money?

If it comes down to Lea, or Franklim, it should be Franklin, imo

I could see a Franklin hire playing out as a, "Let's fricking Go," moment for our current roster, and recruits. If that first signing class is legit/saved, and we retain this roster, Auburn people will get on board, no matter what 'Big Game Frank' did at PSU.

We'd have to pray the boosters are on board, because nobody wins without their booster's money, anymore. We'd also have to pray Franklin regained the DOG he had, at Vandy. PSU firing him may have done exactly that.

They're saying the guy doesn't care about the money. He's pissed off. That's the guy that was hungry enough to win 9 games, at Vandy, two years in a row. PSU would basically be subsidizing our football program,

If it's down to him or Lea, I'll take him and the low-key 8, 9, or 10, win seasons over the guy who was 9-27 before Pavia. *Ducks*

I'm not sold on Lea. I think he may be an imposter due to having Pavia
