Yeah I doubt Lane, Lanning or Freeman come here unless we pay them 15M+ Their schools are going to match whatever we pay

Here’s the problem. Dilly already makes 6 mill. That means we would pay 7,8, or 9. Same thing Kiffin and Freeman make.

Brian Mandel of Texas has a warrant out for his arrest for terroristic threatening of Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm, his wife and children, as well as quarterback Miller Moss. The crimes allegedly occurred on Nov. 8 & 9 after the Cardinals’ game vs. California.

Per WAVE News in Louisville, Mandel is facing charges that include six counts of terroristic threatening and one count of attempted theft by extortion over $10,000. The extortion attempt is what involved the Louisville QB.

Now even if you consider Leach as a decent hire at the time it was considered to be a risky WTH? type of hire.

Not really. Leach was considered a "WTF" hire because he was a weirdo and the move came out of nowhere. He was actually very highly accomplished with his Texas Tech and WSU records, and a high level hire for a program of MSU's caliber.

This is what I meant. Should have made myself clear. But there were many that questioned if his offense would work in the SEC and he wasn't exactly.known for defense.

IIRC Leach got a little attention in one of the Tennessee openings when they were wandering in the desert.

Imagine being under that much pressure and saying Dilly is your guy lol.

Dilly went to the playoffs his 2nd season as a HC. Arizona State was like 3-9 when he got there. Media experts picked them LAST in the big-12 the season Dilly won the conference and made the playoffs.

I am looking at stats and Dilly has improved both the offensive and defensive stats every year (including this year).

I mean I don't understand the hate at all. To me he would be a great hire. I can't think of another sitting P4 head coach (who would leave) that I'd rather have honestly.

And considering his stud QB has been fighting injuries and out multiple games this season his season has been pretty solid. And unless they slip up at Colorado they most likely end up 9-3 (actually, didn't realize that Leavitt had season ending surgery, so the rest of their games could be toss ups due to Jeff Sims being a bad QB).

Dilly as head coach with Durkin staying on as DC would be an excellent hire. If he managed to bring Leavitt with him it would be an outstanding hire.

Hell, Dilly plus Durkin with Leavitt transferring here would probably be the one hire that could keep all of the talent on both sides of the ball on board.

And they are on probation from Herm. Recruiting limitations and he is still producing.

All correct. People seem to forget that he took over at ASU right after that Herm Edwards shite-show where the NCAA spanked them. What he has done at ASU is in fact a huge success.

Dillingham is highly thought of in the coaching profession. So much so that he was one of the first guys that Lanning called when he took the Oregon job (they worked together while at Memphis). A ~year later he ends up getting the HC job at a mid-level Pac 12 school at only ~32/33 years old. He is extremely young.

Having said that, he is a bit emotional so I'm not sure if he is ready for the SEC or how he would fit at Auburn. But he is high-energy and players will like him a lot.

I've called it out a few times already, but Auburn fans have this moronic belief that anyone even remotely associated with Malzahn is somehow a complete non-question. I don't even understand why considering that Malzahn was overall a success here. You have morons who think that Lashlee (who is now one fo the ~10 highest paid coaches in the entire country) would be a joke hire. Guys - Dillingham and Lashlee would both be WELL ABOVE the usual caliber that Auburn hires as HC.

i said at the time that Meathead Harsin had the best resume as an HC that AU had ever hired - multiple conference championships, major bowl wins, top 25 final poll appearances (albeit all at the G5 level having inherited a successful season program)

both Lashlee and Dilly have accomplished as much or more at the P4 level

You would think the shite LSU is pulling with Kelly makes that job a little less attractive? Saying he hasn't been formally terminated and that they now have found cause, and not paying him.

I hope so. I love the idea of Auburn being more aligned than these other schools. That's been a knock on Auburn for far too long. They act like these other places don't have loud mouth millionaires with bullshite opinions.

They won't get a top tier coach now. Their best hope is Jimbo will work cheap, with back up plans being Gus or Freeze
