I will be 100% out if we hire Durkin. Don't see myself ever caring more than it being on in the background again. Absolutely embarrassing

Reading all the guys post on reddit, Cohen and the interviewers were not impressed with everyone else that interviewed and DJ was not the fall back plan, but the real option B. Is Sumrall goes to UF, DJ is our coach.

Thanks for passing along. So disappointing to hear.

Do y’all really think Sumrall is going to turn us down for UF? Was he playing us this whole time or did UF really swoop in?

The bigger issue is Cohen if he didnt actually account for needing a real plan B

I suspect he wanted to hire Durkin all along. He walked away from Sumrall too easily. He knew he wasn't getting Sumrall for $8m in this climate. Durkin was his plan all along. Change my mind....

If Cohen pulled that stunt that Smurphy mentioned wouldn't you?

No way that I would want to work for that AD.

Don't we play Florida next year?

Sumrall will probably kick our arse.

I had that JABA chill run up my spine when Cohen said that Durka Durka was seriously being considered as a candidate from the beginning. It all may still be a mind fudging to make people feel relieved when Charles Kelly is announced.

I mean when you set the bar at Hugh Freeze, is it really fair to ask candidates to impress you?

Where is our Mike G lover?

"G" finally says Sumrall is gone in a move "nobody saw coming"

Except I saw it yesterday.

It really pains me to say I was right. It's a curse really.

It seems as though Durkin has convinced Cohen that he's the only coach in college football who can hold the roster together. Congratulations to Durkin and his interviewing skills, he's almost as good as Scot Loeffler.

I don't care if Sumrall "excites you" or not. He is more "exciting" than DJ Durkin, which is the crux of the issue here. Auburn continually makes hires that literally nobody else would make, and then we act surprised when they fail miserably. Rinse and repeat.

So what you’re saying is the best we can do is Sumrall or Durkin?

I don’t believe they think that Sumrall is 5-6 mill a year better than Durkin.

I am thinking about doing a sweet Fire Cohen thread.

Gonna be lit. No punches to be held back.
