So now that Cohen shite the bed, and let everyone else on the board get extended, who’s your frick it, let’s go get that guy candidates? I’ve thrown his name out before, but frick it, Jeff Traylor, UTSA. He’s literally built the program from nothing and has very respectable losses this year to aTm, North Texas and South Florida. He also beat the brakes off of Sumrall and Tulane. So frick it, why not?

Giving the Tulane coach full program control seems more idiotic than hiring a DC who could have gone to Ohio St last off-season. How exactly has 2 seasons of winning in the AAC convinced everyone that he should be given that power? Lane Kiffin? I could get how people would give him the keys but Jon Sumrall??? Let's get a grip guys.

Man, we really moved on from “Sumrall being allowed to bring in his coordinators would be a problem” to “I can’t believe we are going to lose Sumrall because we wouldn’t let him bring in his coordinators” pretty damn quick

I hope at least 1 reporter busts Cohen's balls about this cluster at the press conference.

Anyone who gets the job should be given that power.

Did we really have posters wanting to tell Sumrall who his coordinators were going to be?

Durkin was a failure as a head coach and he's had one top-30 defense in the past decade (based on Total Defense rankings). He has done nothing to earn this job.

Why has Durkin's name not come up at all for schools like Arkansas? If he is good enough for Auburn, then Arkansas should have been targeting him weeks ago. Arkansas fired their HC before we did and could have engaged Durkin's camp had they wanted to, but they didn't.

This is all you need to know. No one but Auburn was even considering this.

What’s the point of hiring a coach you don’t trust to hire a good staff? That to me is pure insanity. We really suck if that is the thing we need to do hiring a new coach.

It's not like Auburn hasn't been guilty of it several times. This has to be one if the dumbest moves anyone can take.

And honestly, the player retention argument is dumb. There is no guarantee they would stay for Durk anyway. This sounds like it is going to the 2nd lazy hire in a row.

This will almost certainly be disastrous for the program if all of this turns out to be true. Like, hard to really articulate disastrous.
