At least give Jay Jacobs credit for bringing Bruce Pearl here and putting the basketball program on the national stage. Plus, he was an AU man and obviously wanted what was best for AU even if it didn't always work out.

I could be wrong, but wasn't there speculation that one of the reasons for Riley leaving Oklahoma was because he didn't want to be in the SEC?

Man. We are a football school. Jay got us the title in 2010, but good lord every other year since 08 has been painful. Cohen's legacy rest on this football hire. He is 0 for 1 right now.

That's what LSU fans said. I think they gave him a house in LA and his wife wanted out of Oklahoma.

Welp Drink staying at mizzou was not on my bingo card. That definitely changes things.

No info coming out. So very hard to get info. I think Cohen floated some names out to test the fanbase and then has gone silent.
But tomorrow afternoon and Saturday morning I would expect rumors to start flying. The plan is to announce the new coach Sunday

Its going to be a very interesting next day or so. Either Cohen is going to come out of this looking like a boss, or this is going to quickly spin into the typical Auburn coaching search that we have become accustomed to in recent years. Other schools definitely feel that Sumrall is in play for them, so someone is being lied to.

If we end up with Durkin on Sunday then Cohen failed. End of story. He should resign or should be fired on Monday if this is the case. Yes, this is an emotional, not reasonable take.

It’s cause we were supposedly getting Kiffen and all the drama that went along with that. Just look at the coaching changes board

We all wanted a less chaotic, more quiet coaching search. We seemingly have it but have to come to realize that the silence (along with our recent track record of coaching hires) can be unnerving.
