People forget that Freeze said he slowed down the offense to help the defense.
I’m sure those three play drives that took a minute and a half off the clock helped tremendously over three play drives that took twenty seconds off the clock.

It probably helped that opposing offenses didn’t have to open things up, because they knew they didn’t have to score much. Which was what we saw the reversal in Vandy’s strategy in Nashville, and then they proceeded to torch the mighty Durka Durka defense.

The only thing still giving me hope is that, if it were already decided that we were hiring Durkin, they probably would have already announced it.

Anyone have any idea who our next Athletic Director might be?
After Green and Cohen I would take Jay Jacobs back now.
Take a look at our last three:
Jacobs
Green
and now Cohen
Terrible.

Riley would cost way too much money.
Not happening IMO.

Remember Kirby Smart at one time was the DC at Alabama and the head coach of Georgia.
And Auburn should have hired him. Pat Dye begged them to hire him. Should have listened but the PTB didn't want him coaching in their championship or something. PTB didn't want to give him full autonomy.
Sound familiar? I think the same thing may be happening now.
Cohen telling him who he has to hire, etc.
I think that the same thing exists with Sumrall. If Tulane makes the playoff the retards at Auburn will be against him coaching his team.

Drinkwitz has officially been extended at Missouri.

Just saw that. Whew. I was sweating. 10.7 million/year.

Texas Tech or UVA AD please
Hocutt has been at Tech since 2011. I don’t see him leaving.
UVA’s AD is a female and I’m don’t think it would work out with her.

I just disagree that he is terrible there. He took a USC that is now a logistical nightmare in the big10 and I think that’s tougher than people realize. He’s lost two games this year despite that. I’d trade for that.

He signed a $110M contract and is producing ~8 wins at a school that is the top-dog in a talent rich state with little to no actual in-state competition. UCLA has sucked the entire time he has been there. Cal has sucked the entire time he has been there. In fact, both of those in-state rivals fired their HC's this season.
Again, you will need to sign him to a contract that pays him a salary which an ELITE head coach makes, and you now need to sell me on why he will produce ELITE results at Auburn when he has failed to do so at USC. If he is not going to produce elite results, then how can you argue in favor of hiring him for the amount of money it will take? You can't tell me that we should pay him $80+M to produce ~8 wins a season here.
Go ahead and convince me. The travel schedule is tough at USC? He will face harder challenges at Auburn in the SEC than travel logistics. If travel is fricking him up that badly, how the hell do you foresee him succeeding in the SEC where everything you do has to be optimized to pinpoint precision?

Would be terrible to announce Durkin on Sunday.
Win IB: looks like a emotional reaction hire
Lose IB: lost IB and you still hired him?
Bad looks either way. If Durkin, it should be Friday.
