That's my gut feeling as well and i've thought it was him from the start. as long as it's not Lea, Drink, Durkin, Charles Kelly, Jimbo, i'll probably be good with whoever it is.

My feelings exactly. Sumrall (if it is him) may not be the huge name splash hire but it could be so much worse. He's succeeded everywhere he's been.

unlike Napier, Sumrall has been in coaching for 21 years and never been fired, either as an individual or as part of a staff whose HC was dismissed

plus, also unlike Napier, he actually has a personality

and apparently a barber who doesn’t want to make him look like Billy Bob Thornton in Sling Blade

Could be, but also if you're in a position of someone willing to tell you real things, they only tell you things on the condition that you only make public what they tell you to make public.

The former is more likely, but the latter is possible.

She hasn’t been able to respond because it was red lights she was seeing coming home from the bar, and not red flags.

Thanks awestruck! You're correct. Just an old woman who has watched and loved our team since the Shug Jordan era.

Just because some of us don't jump on board with any hire and act like it's an amazing day that will change Auburn football forever, regardless of who it is, doesn't make us wrong or stupid. We have seen it enough. Someday you won't blindly support and convince yourself every hire is the right hire, then blow sunshine up everyone's arse

1. He has never been a head coach at a P4 school.
2. His record is good but strength of schedule needs to be considered. Harsin had a winning record too and for the same reason.
3. Sumrall is a defense guy and Tulane's defense has struggled on the field at times this season.
4. The reason offered for the defensive struggles has been the loss of seniors. Most good coaches will bring in guys from the portal to bridge the gap. Does Sumrall mostly prefer to recruit from high school? Some of our best players have come from the portal.
5. He might try to bring his staff from Tulane.
6. Roster retention
7. We might lose Durkin and only God knows who Sumrall might replace him with.
8. I am nervous about all the hype from the sports writers, some of whom are bammers.

He makes reasonable, thought out responses. You don't agree, so you come up with that?

My goodness baw, slow your roll, I have no issue with her concerns and share a lot of them. I was merely having fun with it all and not being critical or adverse to her posts. lol.

Holy shite you all are on the edge if that is how you read all of that.

It was actually a fire. A family down the street lost their home in a fire early this morning. I went to pick up their children and get them out of the cold. I hope everyone is careful with space heaters as the temps drop.

Note to self, don’t joke around with Mammy LRB or Poker “salmon” Dough during a coaching search.
