What if anything would you like to see changed in football?

Commercials should be restricted in ways that don't allow them to ruin the flow of the game.

The dullest part of the game is the kick-off and extra point kick.

A round of commercials, then kicking off into the end zone and then the TV goes to another round of commercials really sucks.

Maybe extra point attempts should start farther back?

extra point kick.

Needs to go. Maybe 100 years ago it was harder for kickers to make those kicks, but today it is a 99% success rate across the board. It's dumb and a waste of time.

I think it would be best to force everyone to go for 2 after each TD.

If you're going to go that route I'd just assume them do it like flag. 1 point from the 3, 2 points from the 10, 3 from the 20

Get rid of the stupid 2 point conversion Overtimes.

I dont understand why we want less football…OT rules, clock rules, etc to speed up the game

Watched the films from the 1957 championship team. Extra points weren't a given then with front toe kicking.

Yeah, but half of that is commercials and promos. One string of 5 or six commercials is okay sometimes as I can get up and pee and get a beer. Two strings of commercials close together are just an annoying waste of time.

I don't watch much NFL, but looks like they handle that better than college.

There are lots of ways to work commercials and promos in to small spaces without slowing the game. Short commercials can be placed in a lot of places without interfering with the flow of the game. Spot tags, endorsements and sponsorships can easily not disrupt the game itself.

Stop subtracting football to add commercials.

45 seconds is all the time that is allotted to replay review. Once the ref sticks his head in the screen, it powers on for 45 seconds. If he can't figure it out by then, play stands.

I want laser spots of the ball and precision first downs and touchdowns.

When’s the last time a game lasted 4.5 hours?

If you don’t have the attention span for a 3.5 hour game (average time is already less than that) then go watch something else…are you not watching football all day anyways?

I will never understand wanting less football. They’re not going to cut into the commercials.

How about making the uprights narrower?

Along with OT's being handled on the field until done and without shorting for broadcasters.

( too bad catch it elsewhere )

Go back to some of the old rules that made college football unique.

Clock stops on every first down.
Play clock is 25 seconds and starts when the ball is marked for play.
Play isn't held to let the defense sub if the offense does.
No targeting; enforce spearing/unnecessary roughness; no penalties initiated from review.

Update overtime to a modified fifth quarter. Both teams get a chance to possess the ball. No starting at the x yard line, no modifications to rule. If tied after 15 minutes then game is a tie.

I absolutely agree with all those except Targeting should be a rule. But it shouldnt be an ejection. Just a normal personal foul

agreed.......Maybe handle like Unsportsmanlike Conduct Second one on the same player ......out you go.

Only Coach I ever tossed. One USC in the first half and one in the second half.

President tracked me down to ask about the ejection. I explained it to her.

She said "I asked him who ejected him. He said you. I asked Ray kicked you out?" "Yes he did" "You deserved it." "Now I can go tell him I spoke with you, then tell him ......confirmed ....."You deserved it."

25 years officiating ......one coach, one player tossed ....Not a bad record.
